Guys, im planning to buy this awesome np8690 from mucro asia :drool
but before that, i got a few questions in my mind:
1) I've got a tight budget so maybe ill be opting for the i5-520 processor.. If in the future i want to upgrade to i7 or any other processors with 4 cores, is that possible?
2) Should i upgrade the warranty?
3) If i want to RMA it for some unfortunate reasons, how is it done? And how long will it take before i can get a new/repaired unit?
4) I heard buying a Windows OS seperately cost more than buying the OEM one, but most of the people buying np8960 opt for no OS.
So if im buying np8690, should in include the OS?
5) Last question, is upgrading the thermal paste worthwhile? Or should ijust do it myself since i heard some np8690 owners saying sager sometimes screw up on this part.. sad.gif
Sorry if I have asked so many questions tongue.gif .. Its just that i hope i can know more about this laptop before buying it since i hope itwill last me for quite some time. I hope all the senseis n sifu here will enlighten me.. smile.gif ... np8690 rawks!

Im impressed with the warranty given by mucro asia. Makes me think of upgrading the waranty. ^^. If i want to upgrade the warranty, which waranty should i choose? I mean either upgrading the parts waarnty or the labour warranty? Which is more worthwhile? ><

But from what i heard ic7 diamond is quite difficult to apply. I wouldnt want to apply it wrongly and instead of cooling the laptop, I GSOD the GPU or CPU. ><

Omg... Hw come i configured to the specs that i bought my np8690 about a month ago and the current price is rm3360 whereas a month ago it was rm4500!!??.. How come the price dropped so drastically even when the price at sagernotebooks still remained relatively the unchanged.. =.=

Hello,

so i've been browsing the mucro asia site, I'm planning to buy a NP8690.

I'm at the payment option.

How exactly does Ringgit Bank Transfer works?
From the previous post i get the idea that Mucro Asia has a maybank account; and since i don't use maybank (RHB). is it possible to transfer between Maybank and RHB?

please advise, thanks
*
Actually you dont need a maybank account to pay through ringgit bank transfer, you just need to go to the bank and ask for a bank in slip. Fill in the details and write the exact amount. Take a number and wait till your turn and just give the exact amount to the bank attendant. It's that simple and doesn't involve a maybank account.

Nope, it still remained the same. At first, it caused quite some panic for me.. U can imagine paying rm4-5k then that happened.. cry.gif
Just mail mucro or if possible directly call them to get confirmation that you have paid. I hope that helps. biggrin.gif

Haha, that's really relieving because I emailed them when I first made the payment and they said they received it but the status has been the same ever since then. Thanks mate, I really can't wait to get my hands on my baby.

You will be really impressed with its graphic potential.. drool.gif
Your's will be coming with hd5870 rite? I wonder who has gotten a hold on the np8690 gtx460.. hmm.gif

go to https://logon.rhb.com.my/

click on register to create an account. They will ask you to link your saving account (atm card) to the web account. after everything is done, in the webpage choose "Transfer Fund". look for "Transfer Fund to Other bank" then you can start transfering. you'll need the beneficial bank's account number of course.

note there's a limit of RM5000 per day for transfer, i think it can be lifted but i'll have to check with RHB.

Do they charge you for the transaction fund? If not, my next purchase would be from the comfort of my home.. biggrin.gif

And care to share the specs of your sager?

Yo corad, long time no see.. ><...

Actually asus have been dominating in the gaming laptop industry for quite some time.. (If not for their g73jh having GSOD problems i would have chose it instead.. more value for the buck.. tongue.gif)

If one can be sure that the new batches of the g53jw is problem free, it is certainly a value buy in my opinion.. biggrin.gif
