If my memory has not fail me, I think yes as they're catering for the mostly western expatriates. They have different "daily specials". Been there twice at noon and happens to be on Friday... but only once able to catch the Lamb Chop at such price. Maybe if you're lucky you can get the steaks cheap too.

$14.90 for the lamb are promotional prices or normal prices? From the website, the outlook is amazing.

Gita Bayu is 5 minutes drive from my house! But from the few times I've gone there the guards will insist on calling up the host house for their OK before letting you in leh. Will they let me in if I say I just want to go to the clubhouse to eat?

Wow you guys really know how to enjoy your steak.
For me, TheShip is good enough. Hehe..

It's cos you haven't had anything better. If you're not that willing to spend huge amounts on food, then please don't ever try any of the expensive options in this thread, cos once you do you'll be hooked and won't ever be satisfied for rm40 steaks.

QUOTE(Monya Meow Meow @ Mar 10 2009, 12:27 PM)
After all these years of steak eating, nothing beats the steak at The Ship.
It is just wonderful and for a very reasonable price too  smile.gif

Eh everyone has their own tastes I guess, but The Ship steaks are pretty mediocre imo.

I don't want to sound like a condescending ass, but steaks are different from other food. A cheap italian place has the potential to surprise you with good pasta, but cheap steaks are never good because you can't get high quality meat at low prices.

2. Rothman Round About.
This is an old place. From my parents time. Can't remember the name but it's the corner shop at Rothman Round About.
Been there a couple of times 3 years ago. Their cheese Fillet steak is amazing. Reasonable price.
*
aaa i went there the other day! it's called Castell, right? my cousin had the cheese fillet steak, they use the blue stilton cheese. i used to go a lot when i was younger because i loved the crab bisque and the rib eyes on the wooden plates. it's a bit different now, though. it's an ok place, they just need to up the quality and service and consistency a bit.

For Steaks !

Top Spot
Jake's Charbroil Steakhouse (not to be confused with jack's place rclxub.gif )
- large cuts of meat grilled the true style(little marinate)

Good
Friday's
- good tasting steaks
Jack's place
- well worth the price with great tasting sides

VS
- too long never tried, can be considered average if i remember correctly

Bad
Tony Romas
- tried recently their sirloin + bbq beef ribs combo.. sirloin felt like rubber, chew chew forever and the taste.. yek

Never tried prime b4.. too exp..

I liked Jake's 1-2 years ago, they really cook the doneness correctly to your order and serve the steak the real way, without sauce. Hope the quality hasn't dropped. Price is RM30-60 depending on what cut I think, very reasonable.
