Have you tried Indulgence Ipoh yet?

I go there quite often...but the food is questionable....sometimes inconsistent and taste a bit unique.....Now I go mostly for desserts and their pate'

i am now the mayor of Prime! tongue.gif

tried the september special, wagyu skirt, it's certainly not as tender as the more 'normal' steak cuts, but a lot "beefier" haha (can't think of any other word).

october's special is imperial wagyu wah ... dunno how this compares to last month's blackmore wagyu.

aiaya.. saw ur msg too late di... brought her to Neroteco instead.. loved the italian there.. not that ex and good homey food..

Come to think of it.. i'm eating lesser and lesser meats.. lol.. somehow, prefer a good pasta or hearty comfort food nowadays..

Added on September 23, 2010, 6:20 pmwas at the MIGF launch gala event on Tuesday night... The Olive was serving their signature Wagyu beef for the taste testing... found it so so only... maybe cos prepared too early before and affected by the cold dry air from the air-conditioner..

Didn't quite fancy all the fancy high end food there.. I find that they are trying too hard and using too much other stuff to cover the main ingredient.. btw, it looks like molecular-gastronomy is becoming popular here.. almost every one is trying to serve some kind of infused cream aerated with CO2 aka infused mousse..

Jake's @ Medan Damansara, no question. Excellent wagyu, lobster thermidor, a bit pricey but definitely worth the dough. Helluva lot better than Victoria station next door

depends on your preference
if you like texture, go for the grass fed Argentinian Angus
tender, try the American corn fed from IOWA
personal, I dont like Wagyu, too soft
my fav. cut is the ribeye, med. rare.

The steaks at Las Carretas are just as good, maybe the restaurant lack the ambience , then again the pricing is twice as much. Cannot compare a casual dinning to a fine dining in a 5* hotel.
The turnover is important to ensure the meats are fresh. If the meat is fresh, the chef's culinary skill is secondary.

By this logic those sub-par places like The Ship and Victoria's Station should have awesome steaks, but they don't. Just saying tongue.gif

Also, no comment on Mandarin Grill cos it's damn expensive, but Prime with Starwood discount is actually very very reasonable. Cheaper than Jake's, even.

Wanted to go try out Las Carretas last night but damnnnn couldn't figure out how to get to the other side of the road on Jalan Semantan. I came from PJ/BU side so I was opposite, at CIMB, and that area is like all highways so wrong turn = 15 minute detour wadafarkk ... so I gave up and went to boathouse in ttdi instead (crappy food btw).

Mandarin Grill with their Elite card gives 50% discount as well, on food only though.
My gf has the Elite card and I got the starwood card, so we are kinda flexible.

1.5' is too difficult to grill 1" is perfect. In order to get a nice 1" thick the cut will come around 400grms.

Been to their Taipan outlet several times, a couple of years ago. Haven't went there since wasn't impress with their food and service. Maybe the Chef & staff at Damansara Heights are better, will give it a go next month when I'm in KL.
