QUOTE
As expected, Nintendo just announced the DSi at its fall presentation -- and it's got dual touchscreens. The company is calling it a "third platform," which means it's complementing the existing DS Lite, not necessarily replacing it. Lookswise there's not much different, but it's some 12 percent thinner, partly because it doesn't have a GBA cartridge slot. The touchscreens are also slightly larger, at 3.25 inches, and there's an external three megapixel camera -- we don't know what that dot in the hinge is, but we're told there's only one camera. There's an SD slot and internal storage -- we're not sure how much at the moment, but photos can be taken directly to the Wii Photo Channel on the card. Nintendo's also launching an online DSi Shop, which will sell content directly over WiFi, including a free browser app and "DS Ware" game -- and you'll be able to get on for free at "Nintendo Zone" hotspots, which'll be in Japanese McDonalds. The store will take the newly-renamed Nintendo Points, 1000 of which will come free with the DSi until March 2010 and content will be priced in 0 / 200 / 500 / 800 point brackets. ¥18,900 ($178), launching in Japan on November 1st in black and white -- the rest of us will have to wait until next year.

7:12 : Nintendo DSi will be released in white and grey-black color variations, and launch on November 1 for 18900 yens in Japan.

7:10 : The Nintendo DSi will come with a browser included.

7:01 : There's also an internal memory for storing apps (Nintendo DS Ware) and games. You can download games via Nintendo DS Shop with "Nintendo Points.". Wii Points will be renamed to become Nintendo Points. Titles will be placed into Free, 200, 500, and Premium (800) categories. DSi systems that connect by March, 2010 will receive 1000 Points as a gift.

7:00 : There's an SD memory card slot. Pictures you take can be viewed on Wii photo channel.

6:59 : Both screens will be increased to 3.25 inches.

6:52 : The size of the unit has been reduced by 12%, 2.6 millimeters thinner, GBA slot will be excluded, bigger screens, better speakers system, 300,000 pixels camera. Both screens will be touch panels, and photographs should be able to be manipulated through the touch screen.

Damn this is stopping my purchase of the NDSL this year!
I hope I have larger screens for my NDS so I'm waiting for this one to arrive here.

Lack of a GBA slot means some games which needs the GBA versions to unlock certain things in the DS game won't be possible anymore (though there are few of such games anyway).

EDIT: Oh, and without it, games that NEED the GBA slot such as Guitar Hero won't function :/...wonder how that will be fixed....

Oh, and for those who play Pokemon, hang on to your DSL - PalPark is impossible with this new DS tongue.gif

I think I'll be sticking to my NDSL, can't see any point in upgrading if I'm gonna lose all the GBA's functionality... And with that, bye bye to Opera DS/Rumble Pack/etc. thingy that depends on SLOT-2 sad.gif

It also looks too similar to the current NDSL tongue.gif

NDSL can still play GBA games while NDSi cant

The Guitar Heroes Grip also need to use slot 2 as mention by someone above but cant use in NDSi.

It is confirmed that there will be only one touchscreen.

A bigger display really complements the whole console, but the display resolution hasn't changed at all, meaning that we would still see even blockier textures. The biggest loss here is the removal of SLOT-2, which obviously caused a lot of worries/tantrums from users relying on it. In short, there will be no rumble pack, no added memory (unless more RAM is built in), and most importantly, no more GBA games.

Also, they have not announced what type of batteries will be used on the DSi. Most speculate that it would share the same battery pack as the Lite, but with the new console being 12% thinner and again, the removal of the GBA slot, there is still a trace of light for a new redesign.

About the camera, this really isn't much to bark about but with a 3.0 megapixel cam, I hope Nintendo decides to be generous and don't throw in a fixed-focus lens. Who knows, games in the future might feature taking objects, and autofocus would be very handy in this case.

Also, the relocation of the power button is a serious mishap. They should have left it where it is on the Lite, and used a button instead of a spring switch.

Battery specs taken from the Nintendo Japan site:

Battery Duration:
DS - Minimum brightness - 15-19 h | Low - 10 to 15 h | High - 7 and 11 h | Maximum - 5 to 8 h
DSi - Minimum brightness - 9 to 14 h | Low - 8 to 12 h | Medium - 6 to 9 h | High - 4 to 6 h | Maximum - 3 to 4 h

Even if there was a new battery redesign, things aren't looking good for the DSi. Not sure if WiFi gaming is considered, but seems like it isn't, which I would give a minimum of 1.5 hours of gaming on the highest setting. sad.gif

Edit: Didn't notice that the DSi now has an extra step in the brightness setting, so it's hard to say if it's the same as the Lite.

Even with the built-in browser, people who use their DSes to surf the Net will know they would only use it on a last-resort basis. It's just too slow IMHO.

Also, it's 3 megapixel on the outside, 0.3 megapixel on the inside.

seems nice, but it has its pros and cons as laid out by the others here:

pro:
- camera with 3.0 mp outside and 0.3 mp inside,
- 3.25" screen
- 12% thinner
- etc, etc

cons:
- battery life reduced
- no gba slot
- no change in picture quality
- etc, etc

since there's no dual touchscreen, it shouldn't be much of a wow factor anyway. so those who are already having an ndsl shouldn't be sad, it's still somewhat better than ndsi. biggrin.gif

If they did multi-touch functionality it's going to break backwards compatibility with the DS and DS Lite. Then again, what's going to happen if you plug a game requiring the camera into pre-DSi handhelds...

Not really officially mentioned anywhere, but if there were supposed to be two touchscreens Nintendo should be hollering it out since it's release. Furthermore it's already been mentioned that it's not a new platform altogether, but a new product to extend the DS platform.

If they made a paradigm shift with it's features, it'll be a new console platform altogether. Nintendo's main goal is to extend the life of the DS platform, obviously you can't make many changes aside from a few things to retain compatibility.

seems like NDSL users don't need to upgrade to NDSi...not worth the upgrade
NDSi's new features are more like bonus upgrades rather than essential upgrades

Well, if the DSi is able to access the firmware while playing a game (like how the PSP does), the battery bar would most definitely be there. I'm hoping for a built-in soft reset in the firmware as well.

Oops, mistook the volume control for the SD slot. Now the volume control being controlled by buttons, one with small hands might accidentally press it, yet we won't know if it's at the maximum volume by a glance and definitely lower sensitivity intervals.

But those people who carry their DS for music in their pockets would find the button arrangement handy. Maybe a long hold to switch tracks?

I think the price still around RM600~700
But since they had remove the slot 2, shouldn't they lower the price shocking.gif

I think this release will surely wipe out all of the Flash Card as I think they had changed the board of DS > <

Remove slot 2 but add all the other features...nope...

When it first arrives here, expect shops to hike it up to RM800 to RM1k+. It's happened with DSL, it can happen again.

As far as flash cards are concerned...high chances it won't work with this DSi....by now Nintendo would have done something with the firmware..but only time will tell....

I would say so too, as the DSi isn't really the complete successor to the DSL. The absence of a SLOT-2 really affects my decision to get one of these. If the SD card can replace SLOT-2 functions (other than guitar frets, paddles, and rumble feature which I don't really care about), I might consider one.

I would say that between the SLOT-2 and the extra updates of the DSi, they do have their own merits. Support for WPA, bigger screen and improved speakers are definitely catching my eye here, but that means we won't be seeing anymore extra equipment that could be inserted into the DS for games and the like, which means the SLOT-2 will eventually be obsolete anyway.

Just a guess, but probably not. With all the work involved just to re-flash a DS or DSL and their small capacity flash chips, chances it's not going to happen at all.

In terms of hardware, we still don't know much about what the DSi has to offer. There's definitely extra RAM and storage, just how much is there?

Well. Just a hunch and random theory. Maybe they could use the download play function? Connect to the Wii or WiFi and download the update. I think its possible, make the update something like the demos. Wont stay on your DS. Disappear when you turn off your DS.

Hmm, never thought of that. biggrin.gif

Technically it is possible that the update could be delivered to users via Download Play, but it'll only have access to a portion of the firmware, not all of it. Unless Nintendo is able to develop some compression system that'll fit everything into that portion, and NDSi users being able to download stuff from them which is a selling point for the NDSi, it won't work. Where would we DS and DSL users store our DSWares anyway laugh.gif

If that happens, then the previous console owners will just need to wait for some 'unauthorized development'. It is already possible to emulate the current DSL firmware on an emulator.

Also, if DSVision users are already able to download content, why need a NDSi? There should be something that separates the both of them, maybe different downloadable content, I suppose.

DSVision only offers contents like movies and comics. Not the DSWare. Guess that already sets them apart.

Perhaps so, but seeing that DSL has the Slot 2 and DSi doesn't (and as I mentioned, some games use the Slot 2)....they might just keep the DSL going for just a while longer.

One things i like to know is why all the companies add the letter 'i' to their products to make it cool?

at least they added it to the end rather than the head.
Imagine. iDS. heh.

I think that many of the extensions that tried to use the GBA slot aren't "must have". Its an interesting direction for the DS.
Its kinda interesting tho, essentially, minus the camera and double touch screen, the DSi feels like nintendo's way of trying to venturing into portable applications, the realm of homebrew.

Couldn't Nintendo just reuse the previous connector from the Lite, unless they're planning on a new battery or different functions... smile.gif

No la bid, certainly Hori will release a new set for DSi. My point is I won't buy DSi without those necessary add-ons. Just imagine poking and scratching the screen without screen protector, rubbing and oiling the DSi body without skin. It terrifying.

And Bernard should bundle the stuff together with the DSi. Lulz.

now they gonna release a new ds..
luckily i din't buy ds yet

but some ppl says ndsl is btter than ndsi

- no gba slot - i dun care bout that,i already have gba
- the camera looks good(at least maybe better than psp chotto shot)
- dual screen(which more better,2 screens touchable or only 1 screen touchable?)

anyway, the only important thing for me is
is this new ndsi support rom?(pirate game)?
i need that because my area does not have many ds game(only old games) and they sells it at rm200+ ..more pricey than psp umd.

ndsl or ndsi ??..which one to buy.?can't wait to play..

The answer is obviously, no.

As a matter of fact, all the flashcarts out there might not even function anymore on the revised firmware of the DSi.

But from what I've heard with an internal storage it makes it easier for the hackers to hack.
The NDSi is basically encouraging piracy using their that internal storage instead of the flash cart.

First up came a question regarding region locks on the Nintendo DSi handhelds. And Reggie's answer? "To be honest I dont know for sure, I will look into it." He added that he thinks that the device will be region locked, purely on the fact that the downloads for the system are region based.

Man, I am going to be so damn disappointed if I can't play my copy of Tingle's Balloon Fight on there. Especially after the trouble I went to to get it!

Nintendo has said they will look into it for us, so we'll keep on it sometime in the coming weeks.

Another question was a simple one: The DSi can play music, so can it play MP3s? And the answer is "no, it plays the AAC format. It's an easy conversion."

Can anon find me sauce?

Seems like Nintendo kind of ran out of innovations. I'm disappointed.

There are no Dual Touchscreens, that would mean redeveloping at least 100 games already scheduled, and that's even more stupid than the current move. No GBA means no rumble carts, no more special unlocks with GBA carts, no more GH On Tour. Doesn't sound that bad, but reduction in functionality for something that isn't even implemented yet (It's like saying you're buying PS3 for Home) isn't smart, I'll wait it out.

First Shiggy's announcement of the focus on Casual games. then this. What exactly is Nintendo's market plan?

DON'T JUSTIFY REASONS FOR WRONG DOINGS!

If you are really serious about getting ori...

You can always contact 1 of the reputable LYN Traders HERE. They do send their order via post.

For one... try Gamers Solution.

Anyway, I still have use for the GBA Slot. I guess I will get another DS Lite before it is discontinued (although I highly doubt it), and get the DSi when I have some extra money.

Actually I prefer sharper, smaller screen than a big and blocky screen on the DSi.

I'm waiting for my invisibleSHIELD for NDSL. Just to give it cosmetic boost, to resist the temptation of DSi. I'm going to wipe my NDSL clean, and make it nicer with I.S.

What? tongue.gif

So who's in the running for a new DSi? If the suggested price would be around RM630, how much would the shops offer for it once it's released? smile.gif

A lot of difference, I would say. The design has been completely revamped, the form factor is much smaller, the screens have adjustable brightness, and has a higher capacity battery, to name a few.

Mike Fahey of the site Kotaku has expressed his concerns in an article concerning the new Nintendo DSi. The worry springs from the idea that the DSi might actually be an encouragement for piracy because of the SD slots.

If Nintendo hasn't designed the DSi with protection against such things, Nintendo might experience a mass pirating of their games.

Piracy of games for the DS is already easy, is it about to get worst?
"Adding an SD slot makes a bunch of sense for downloadable content given the way things are going," offered Brown. "I just hope they've done something to counter the mass piracy that exists via the R4 on the Lite. It scares me that with an SD card input, that might leave it even wider open that it was on the original device," added.

piracy is bad, but if people(like PM and Bid) choose to ignore it, so even if have piracy, will it grow? thats is not the matter of concern or not, is the mindset of human that want free stuff, and don't give a shit to those company that develop it (from a guy that own r4 whistling.gif)

Yeah, I read that before.

But like the article said, I doubt they didn't encrypt any protection against piracy on their own SD slots considering they themselves know how vulnerable it is.

Piracy is bad for your health. Theres a bigger satisfaction when you buy original if you ask me. I will work to finish the oris i have. But if pirated. Play 10minutes. Ditch aside and everything.

Anyhow, I will be getting meself a DSi. As to when. I dunno. See to import from Japan or the US release. Or even wait for a Limited Edition design. lolz.

u see.gba is still expensive.around rm 300.gba sp surely more xpensive.maybe bout 300-400,[[at my area ]]..if im not mistaken i get gba sp 2004 price about rm 400-500,until now, still expensive.

about the gba slot, maybe they are using emulator like psp playing gba games..if it really like that.everyone must be happy

Blue berry.
i agree with u

im always buy pirated games, never see any ps2 ori game
i buy a lot,now around 600cd ps2,im become greedy

I beg to differ. If a game suck...it will suck no matter it is ori or not. I'm not saying that buying ori is not good, but buying a sucky ori game will still result in it being a sucky game no matter what. You can't make a sucky game good just because u're buying the original version of the game.

The good thing about buying originals is that we will be more selective before buying and not just getting the ones out there on the market. Hence, the result, u will finish what u bought coz u are really careful b4 buying it and the game that u bought is really a good game. (Well even if it's not good, some will just sell it off after a few levels) happy.gif

Piracy, on the other hands, makes u wanna try everything that is out there on the market thus, the result of not finishing any of them is already a given outcome.

Region locking is a sad thing.
online suite tailored for each region == nothing for asian market.

Also, does this mean that Japanese DS games will no longer play on US version DSi? OR just the DSi download Apps?

Nintendo has told Future Publishing that the DSi Software is region locked and this relates to both downloadable games as well as future DSi only cartridge based games. However original DS software is region free and will be playable on any region DSi.

Although assumptions are assumptions. Here is what i think what they mean with region lock. The DLC for the DSi is region lock. While some specific DSi game will be region locked too. If its a normal game which both the DSL and DSi can support. I will be region free. Thats what i think anyway.

Those of you who intend to import a DSi from Japan next month may wish to revise your plans, as Nintendo has now confirmed that all DSi software will be region-locked. "DSi software (software that is only compatible with DSi) is region-locked, e.g: European DSi software can only be played on European DSi consoles," stated Nintendo's spokesperson to CVG, brutally driving a stake through our dreams of ever playing Japanese DSWare.

There are elements of the DSi that are region-free -- you'll be able to surf the 'net wherever you are in the world, exchange photos with friends in other regions, and still play non-local DS games on the DSi -- but it looks like we can forget about importing Japanese DSi software. It simply won't work.

Nintendo's messenger says this is because the DSi "embeds net communication functionality within itself" and provides "net services specifically tailored for each region." The fact that each region has unique age limits is also mentioned. What a thoroughly depressing start to the week! We're off for coffee and extra donuts.

I'm still getting one.. hehe. Time to upgrade, as long my DS games can run on the DSi irrespective of where they come from, I got no problem.

Looks like Nintendo is doing the same region thingy concept as the Wii. shakehead.gif '

So next time we buy our DSi we must inspect the region origin. More hassle to the general consumers. doh.gif

It appears that the graphic processor still remains the same? And the battery capacity seems to be lowered compared to NDSL.

Any picture depicting how 3D Picross looks liek? Picross DS is a very nice puzzle game, besides Crossword DS and Sokoban. Most probably get a copy if it's 4 folds better than current Picross.

Imagine apps or even games you download from the online store using "nintendo points", akin to what wiiware is doing. Apparently they're republishing brain age 1 and 2 and the opera browser on the DSiWare shop at launch.

The new feature in NDSi have not much improvement from current NDSL. Too expensive + Disadvantage of Software region lock.

Importing Nintendo DSi will cost you $300
October 27th, 2008

Nintendo DSi, DSi, NDSiOur most recent site poll indicates that about 56% of all gamers is planning on importing their Nintendo DSi from Japan. If you really want to import a NDSi at launch, you’ll have to play a lot of money for it. You’ll need to pay at least $300 to get one on the day it launches. After you heard this, are you still planning on getting a DSi from Japan? Continue reading if you’re still in the mood to import one.

The Nintendo DSi launches on November 1st in Japan, it will cost ¥18,900 which is about $200. YesAsia was one of the first online importers to open DSi preorders, and because of the high demand they immediately priced it at $299.99. Afterwards Play-Asia also started with preorders, with both the white and black DSi priced at $299.99 without all extra shipping costs. Model-Gadget.com is the place to be for the cheapest DSi, They charge $272.29 without shipping.

* Black DSi for $299.99 at Play-Asia
* White DSi for $299.99 at Play-Asia
* Black DSi for $299.99 at YesAsia
* White DSi for $299.99 at YesAsia

is that worth it to buy 1k??

Everyone can band the purchase of NDSi till the console drop. Any how no point of getting it and feature not much improve from current NDSL.

It will be difficult to find screen protect, protection case and etc.

If I would buy one, I'd wait a few months for everything to get sorted out. I don't want another 'first batch' problems on my DSi.

Remember that the DSi is region-locked, not like the DS phat and DS Lite. Make sure this is the region u want, or else have to buy second unit for other regions in the future tongue.gif

Me? I'll hold off until there is a game that will give me a reason to buy one, for that region. Then I'll buy one for the region. For now I'm happy with my DS Lite.

region lock applies ONLY to the new DSi apps+games only...

the convention any future/current DS games are still region free.

Was already expecting that, because Nintendo would definitely at least try to thwart flashcarts. Not doing so is akin to them inviting flashcart manufacturers, who have all the time to develop a workaround, to make another round of profit off those little things.

It's basically Made in Wario but you make your own minigames. Actually you can make your own music, graphics, pretty much everything, including programming the logic and making your own "game cassette". This is a package game and connects to...

Asobu! Made in Ore
WiiWare game. You can upload the minigames you made in Made in Ore to your Wii and play them on the big screen with friends.

but the battery life for DSi is shorter! sad.gif
the features are only those 'geeky' stuff....
the power buttton position also not nice...later accidentally press how?
that's my reason why i chose the ds lite over dsi.... brows.gif

well the mods are being ignorant and close down the poll. just because of that i lose the poll for the NDSL or NDSi. Nice.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Note
0*: the reason i state F**E games is just to make market comparison. Please do not act like your so divine. Never use a pirate before, Had any MP3 in your PC lately, are your Computer OS your using even original ?. Are everything in your PC original. [This doesn't mean that i don't respect the forums decisions. Just wake up its just 1 sentence touching on NDSL console and i got the thread closed]
1* : its not a RM1000 NDS (market price RM800++ )
2*: 1 guy can speak for entire REGULARS at NDS forum?? "High and mighty HUH"
3*: Being a regular doesn't put you in a high and mighty place with all the knowledge, THE reason you guys are a regular because your here more often or join here earlier. I do not doubt your experience in NDS otherwise i won't be wasting my time here trying to ask questions.

With this kind of attitude i think i just buy my console and just never visit this part of the forum.

lol, you are clearly ignorant to the forum's R&R. In other part of the forums, people usually just "close one eye" when they saw a piracy related post. But here, some of us take it very seriously and report it to the moderators. In short, you broke the rules, not me, not everyone else, you have no one to blame but yourself.

Ignorant? Seriously, what is the MAIN purpose of that said thread? You want the pros and cons, sure, but honestly speaking, is there really ANYTHING to discuss about which can't be done here? (in comparison to NDS)

The poll isn't even valid. Those who voted DSi haven't even gotten their hands-on time with it.

1. Those who voted NDSL are very aware that there's nothing special about the DSi and will stick to the NDSL for the moment.
2. There's nothing on the DSi that can appeal at us for the moment, because it has only been launched for the Japanese market, and every software, shop-wise is currently catered to them. That doesn't mean it'll apply to us(1:1) when it arrives the American shores.
3. Does better sound and screen play a big part, when the already good/perfect NDSL does it well? Does .25 inches of screen size make a BIG difference? Speakers? Bah, use an earphone. Beats the speakers any day.

Furthermore, the popularity of the DSi isn't judged by it's unique hardware, but more on the software. How many games have you heard of that justifies the purchase of the DSi? Other than Mario & Luigi 3, and maybe 3D Picross, what have you heard of that intrigues you to make such a poll and discuss?

All I'm saying it, there's not much that can be discussed/polled about until we get proper news for the American release. For those who want a DSi now, you're stuck with Japanese only software, unless, you wanna play DS games la(see point #3).

No need for so much bitterness. I'll put some sugar on this post.

Like SihumChai mentioned, 'the popularity of the DSi isn't judged by it's unique hardware, but more on the software'. It's just a game console with fun innovative features on the inside, not so much on the outside. And the psp-3000 or PSP Brite Lite can't even compared to it so best to just wait and see as time flies as the DSi or PSP or other unknown contenders will gain more popularity and then u can say it may be worth buying as a new game console in general and not just for the features itself. I'm just in for the games if there is any that'll catch my eyes on as the DS games like Bleach DS and Jump Super/Ultimate Star has got me to buy the DS and Monster Hunter series for the PSP.

For me I'll probably get 2 DSis if the rumoured DSi games are really region-locked. I'll look forward to seeing some cool games on the DSi. thumbup.gif

I just found out that when you play online DS games with the DSi, you still have to stick with WEP encryption and not WPA as everyone thought it would be. WPA will only work with DSiWare and DSi games where as WEP will still be used for DS games.

Because the interface for the Wi-Fi setting pre-DSi are from the games, while the settings itself are stored inside the DS as raw data. This is why the error messages are slightly different from games to games.

what's "this"?
I'd want a DSi only for the DSiWare.. some of them are awesome but of course, they're region locked >.> :\ And I rather wait for a while until they release more colors or limited edition, like Echoes of Time limited edition.. omg I love the design!

saw the N-DSi while in tokyo. neat little thing...selling at 18,900 yen. but shopowner told me Flashcarts r not supported. and even if they do come out with one that does, Nintendo will suppress it with firmware updates. (yes, it's PSP all over again). good thing the menu is multilanguage (inc english). but i think u'll have some problems with the browser over here.

N-DSi is not region locked. that's only for online content/browsing.

multilanguage is only for the main menu. it does not only display japanese as u might have expected. so i can actually purchase a unit in japan and bring it over here.

as for the acekard, the shopkeeper did not mention it. anyway, i do not own a nds, only PSP. but the dsi is very tempting and not that expensive. but i only saw white and black colour there.

Oh,i'm sorry,It is region locked for downloading games/browsing.thks for reminding me

multilanguange for the main menu?
have any proof?

acekart/flashcart/r4/etc ..i think it is useless..
since NDSi will use an update firmware to make the flashcart useless

no proof, as all the display units there r in japanese. and the shopkeeper didn't even bother showing me. but kept insisting it can display english and even chinese language menus. that's why i did not get one.

Well. I am thinking. Why they dont make DSI into using the SD slot to play downloadable game instead. It seems cheaper and more convinient. This is what i thinks.

that was the first argument in the first place. The carts were made so that people could just download and get it at prices they never have to pay while the workers enslave making a fun experience to users.

Hope isn't a bad thing. All we ask, is give respect where it is due. OK? smile.gif

All the reviews said, if u already have DSLite, u don't really need the DSi, but if you don''t have have a DSLite until now and planning to get one, get the DSi and forget about the DSLite. But it sure is cool to have a camera and SD card slot in the DS.

Added on February 21, 2009, 6:25 pmBtw, the DSi is already hacked and supports flash carts now!

Hi to all sifus out there.

Is there anyway to charge our NDS by connecting it to the PC usb port? Sometimes I tend to forget to take along the NDS charger when travel.

Get both. Hehe. Joking anyway. I would say its a tough decision. Limited edition consoles are nice. But a newer console is great too. But i suppose go for the newer would be better.

if DS Lite, different story. Nothing much to do with DS Lite. Just pictochat only and maybe the first health and safety warning screen maybe in Korean. Others can still play english.

But if DSi, then that one is a problem.

No region protection for GBA/NDS games, nor NDS/NDSL console. Only NDSi specific games (none at the moment?) are region locked.

So far, if at Japan, they free 1000 points( which is 1000yen) for every new NDSi owner to get the DSi Ware from the online shop.
And those software range from 200 points to 800 points so far.

I just bought an Acekard 2i for my DSi , and boy it sure looks great, www.acekard.com check it out...... only thing now is......i have no idea why is it for a portable device, nintendo should pack in a charger that is can be used in all regions, instead of the 110v for japan only......bummer, i have to use a travel adapter to do the trick......or a step down converter. guess have to invest in a USB cable afterall.....

Don't count on getting the local version of DSi the near the US launch date. There're no info whatsoever on Maxsoft's website.

ndsi tak minat langsung wor... seeing that i have an nds phat and two nds lites. nintendo can take it, turn it sideways and shove it where the sun shines not laugh.gif
got suckered by the original gameboy and its various incarnations - of which i still have two, the gameboy colour (the second one, the first one wame out together with NeoGeo portable which totally rocked, so i temporarily left nintendo's camp whistling.gif) and then its sp variant and now nintendo wants me to buy another update? vmad.gif

Usa Ndsi will launch soon and it seems like besides hafez, no one is hyped up for this console. who else is getting it and who will be bringing it into malaysia? Most importantly how much would it be.
