Lack of a GBA slot means some games which needs the GBA versions to unlock certain things in the DS game won't be possible anymore (though there are few of such games anyway). EDIT: Oh, and without it, games that NEED the GBA slot such as Guitar Hero won't function :/...wonder how that will be fixed.... Oh, and for those who play Pokemon, hang on to your DSL - PalPark is impossible with this new DS This post has been edited by Phoenix_Cypher_K1: Oct 2 2008, 03:17 PM

QUOTE(viledante @ Oct 2 2008, 06:25 PM) oh, forgot about GBA, who going to play it again? yeah, GH on tour, forgot about that too. but maybe GH will use the function of the touch screen, both touchable, one for fret, one for strum =/ You can't even start the game without the grip attached....idea won't work.

QUOTE(TongCN @ Oct 2 2008, 07:54 PM) I think the price still around RM600~700 But since they had remove the slot 2, shouldn't they lower the price I think this release will surely wipe out all of the Flash Card as I think they had changed the board of DS > < Remove slot 2 but add all the other features...nope... When it first arrives here, expect shops to hike it up to RM800 to RM1k+. It's happened with DSL, it can happen again. As far as flash cards are concerned...high chances it won't work with this DSi....by now Nintendo would have done something with the firmware..but only time will tell....

IMO, DSL should get a year or two more before it's discontinued.....DSi can't really replace DSL as mentioned on the thread.

Perhaps so, but seeing that DSL has the Slot 2 and DSi doesn't (and as I mentioned, some games use the Slot 2)....they might just keep the DSL going for just a while longer.

QUOTE(5zal06 @ Oct 4 2008, 12:09 AM) anyway, the only important thing for me is is this new ndsi support rom?(pirate game)? The answer is obviously, no. As a matter of fact, all the flashcarts out there might not even function anymore on the revised firmware of the DSi.

No need to wonder. If it's new firmware, almost sure they don't work. Oh, and support ori.

QUOTE(5zal06 @ Oct 6 2008, 02:00 PM) http://www.gamegrep.com/blog/14433-nintend...ent_for_piracy/ Mike Fahey of the site Kotaku has expressed his concerns in an article concerning the new Nintendo DSi. The worry springs from the idea that the DSi might actually be an encouragement for piracy because of the SD slots. If Nintendo hasn't designed the DSi with protection against such things, Nintendo might experience a mass pirating of their games. Piracy of games for the DS is already easy, is it about to get worst? "Adding an SD slot makes a bunch of sense for downloadable content given the way things are going," offered Brown. "I just hope they've done something to counter the mass piracy that exists via the R4 on the Lite. It scares me that with an SD card input, that might leave it even wider open that it was on the original device," added. old ds don;t have sd slot?? Yeah, I read that before. But like the article said, I doubt they didn't encrypt any protection against piracy on their own SD slots considering they themselves know how vulnerable it is.
