cute leh... hhehhe smile.gif but they said its rare...anyone ever see that kind of hammy aa? hmm...Toph really likes to sleep la...sometimes feel very tempted...wanna kacau him but then will feel guilty kacau him sleep heheh...

i have few questions here...

1) say i wan to umm...go somewhere by plane...is there any way i can bring my hamster onboard? been wandering for years...hehe..

2) can hamster stand long road journeys? like....6hours drive for example?

tq aaa....me not really experienced in these...smile.gif

1) Don't think you be able to get pass customs let alone bringing on the plane. Don't think customs will allow to bring pet rodents onboard unless its cats and dogs (but some countries require permits to bring into the country).

2) 3-4 hours max by car. Longer can cause the hamster to get stressed. Brought back 3 syrians from Penang to KL before.

and put extra beddings for the mother....to make nest heheh...hmm...dun put the cage in places where ppl owez passby...

I suggest you separate the male and female hamsters...of coz the baby hamsters go with the female for milk. Otherwise the male hamster may kill the baby hamsters...or stress the female enough to kill em. I heard and kena before...

im asking this ques on my friend's behalf..... she's going to a place and goin2 stay there for 10wks... and she'd like to bring along her hammy..

problem is, the trip to the place takes 6hours to reach by road...blurjoey mentioned that max hours hamster can tolerate is 3-4hours...

so is there really no choice but leave the hamster for some1 to take care of it? meaning...my friend can't bring along her hammy?

or is there any other option?

hmm.gif If it's absolutely necessary then you can go ahead lo. Just give the ham more shavings, some fruits for moisture, if can you cover with a dark cloth. Then cross your fingers and hope for the best. Older and lazier hams tend to come out of trips better than young and active.

Don't forget to keep the tank out of the sun as there will be greenhouse effect in the tank if got direct sunlight. The result would be a hamster died from heatstroke.

Better give the tank good air ventilation from AC. Lots of water. If water not available, then get some fresh veges or fruits.

its also depand on the hammi. if the hammi its very stable type then they don't bother much as long as not hot, if some unstable hammi. even we move their cage or tank they will run n hide. those will stress out.

umm....if you guys read the earlier posts in this thread, you'll discover some posts saying habitrail food is not really a good choice as it has too much kuaci and dried corn...

Recommended one is Prestige... from the 1st page of this thread oso got say prestige [800gm] + 1/4 britter bunny [250gm] is recommended...

harry hamster is also one of the good choice...in order not to waste the habitrail that you have bought, you can mix it with either prestige/ harry hamster... these two are more expensive but it's worth it. the important thing here is the nutrients that our hamster get, not really on how cheap the food is...smile.gif i think you know wat i mean...no offense ya...

correct me if im wrong smile.gif

odd_mochi wins the price!

Yesh habitrail has too much (I use much, not many cuz the kuaci and corn are uncountable tongue.gif ) corn and kuaci which are not good for your ham. It's like fat filled. Not so quality if you want to give your ham nutrients and such.

Prestige and Harry Hamster are good brands. You can use both or whichever you like. It's not really expensive actually. I've been using my 1 pack of prestige for like 6 months. RM 24 divided by 6 months just means RM 4 every month.

smile.gif Of course giving more fruit and vege is good for your ham too.
