hi im using malfreemaps latest v131 on nokia n79 garmin latest build. A newbie who just started using it.

What's the best way to go to a specific road name?

-eg lets say i want to checkout some houses for sale in Kelana Jaya and need to go to the road, for example Jalan SS6/1
-if i search via address and put in the house number and road name it usually could not find it, but if i browse the map the road is there
-is there anyway i can search for route to the road only?

thanks

im new at using this too and find it confusing. sometimes jalan must be put in, sometimes its not needed. sometimes must put in a space, sometimes it doesnt care. house number doesnt seem to work for me.

if looking for a particular place with a name - like a condo or a housing community, instead of using Addresses, use Points of Interest > Spell Name.

i dig u bro

like 1 example i tried searching friend house in Bangsar @ Jalan Tempinis

put in city = Kuala Lumpur, road = Tempinis, result = not found

However,

put in city = Bangsar, road = Tempinis, result = found

So basically when it prompts city it means the area name in malfreemaps i think

i think we need a tutorial on efficient usage of Garmin, u know like all the small points u can only know by experience like what we just discussed

btw for routing, i set to 'Shortest distance' as default 'fastest time' usually does not use my usual routes and makes it further

and does anybody know where to get more car icons? im sure its just some copy paste action into the memory card folder. I only have arrow, luxury car, kembara-like car, and monster truck, and they are all blue lol.

Nope, Viewty cant use Garmin.

I am not really sure which Navigator is good since I used the handphone and external receiver only. But they are quite similar, the only difference is the Device itself.

Yes real time feedback, before you turn it will prompt and tell you in how many hundred meters before you need to keep to which lane and so on~

Yea, shortest distance and fastest time got their own pros and cons.

Sometimes for fastest time it will bring you to route with lesser traffic light and use highway where you can drive faster with slight difference of 1KM.

Car Icon? I am using the default blue car haha. Let me look around the icon folder see if can use own icon or not. tongue.gif
