if u use old map then u said its not cover its not the garmin or map fault its your fault for not updating it hehehe

i'm using a samsung innov8 . it's firmware got issues with garmin xt so can't use for now.

it comes pre-installed with route 66. is there anything better out there i could use ? or shud i just wait for a fix to garmin ?

Use goldmap or Malfreemap, it covers most of the important location except urban area


If not mistaken garmin updated their version so it is compatible with innov8?

Route 66 is not suitable for malaysia because there isnt any map for us

installed garmin and my batt now drain damn fast

3 hours on standby can go down to 50% . guess they still havent fixed it yet

U mean u on garmin for 3hours? Of course battery drains~ N82 N95 battery life is bad

any device who on the gps, wifi will drain the battery like hell

U are using the free malsing map ?

Use Malfree or Malsing Gold Map which has the bug fix for address search.

Just search the place u want to go and select Go

I downloaded malfreemap I should paste it on garmin folder only am i rite sifu?

apparently there's an issue with the samsung firmware n garmin xt so a thread dosent end even after the application has closed

im using samsung.. and work with garmin find..
try update ur firmware maybe.. or maybe u not close the application properly..

After u downloaded malfreemap, install the .exe file into ur computer because it contains the maps for MapSource, at the end of the installation it will prompt if u wana create the gmapsupp.img then follow the instruction.

After that go C:\Garmin\Malfreemaps and u should see gmapsupp.img there and copy that into ur garmin folder in memory card. Rename the malsing gmapsupp.img to malsinggmapsupp.img if u wana keep the malsing map and rename it back to gmapsupp.img when u wana use it.

Garmin can only support 1 gmapsupp.img at a time, so see which map u prefer to use.

Tried my N78 on a real field t4esting at penang using malfreemaps on Garmin MXT..

The scariest part was when entering someone's house number and street name, it managed to lead me virtually to her doorstep thru nook and cranny of penang street.- 15km away from penang to butterworth

Only few houses off accuracy.

And yeah my N78 needs only few seconds to lock with satellites from a moving car.

oh...need to change hp any forumer can send me the file?or download? after that,if want 2 use in my n70,need 2 pay ka?

Out of many Nokia N series, how is the N79 GPSr perform ? N78 have the best GPSr, while N95 and N82 are worst, in terms of lock on time. But how N79 do compare to these ?

my garmin on n78 cant start ... keep freezing .. anyone facing tat prob ?
