i dont own a mac,

i've just fiddled with the iphone 3g and itunes, i tried DFU mode, and it finnaly got recognized on itunes 8!! now itunes is downloading the Software update automatically to restore the iphone ( i hope ).

my suggestion ... restore the phone with fw2.1 then use quickpwn to jailbreak n activate since ur using a turbo-sim. iBrickr is only for fw1.0.2 last time. Don't use it anymore or u'll end up ruining the phone. Activate is different from unlock is different from jailbreak.

Since your dad is using a turbo-sim, u don't need to unlock but need to jailbreak so u can activate. ask him to give u the turbosim one and get another officially unlock one for himself

1.1.4 updated to 2.1 using quickprawn.. very easy to use, even a noob like me able to settle it off.. now backuping, consume quite a time..

Currently, im using 1st generation iPhone 2G with 2.01 version.

I realise my earpiece not sound generated after a multiple test. Anyone of u encounter these issue?

It may be software related problems. Try upgrading to Fw 2.1 as some suggested. Do follow the tutorials carefully if you're gonna upgrade to Fw 2.1.

If all else fails after the upgrade, you may have a hardware problem.
