guys, i dont know if its legal or not to post my questions here, but i'll risk it for my dad's sake.


Well , my dad told me he killed his iphone 3g. So i looked at it, it said it requires activation .. ( it was fine before he did something to it ) .. now when i connect to itunes, it said SIM not supported..

Any idea how to fix this? will jailbreaking it fix it? . i dont know how to check the current version..

so its practically dead? ..

it was working perfectly before my dad 'download some software from itunes' ..

hmm, so thats the only way to fix this half-dead iphone?..

i really appreciate your help..

does jailbreaking the phone help? though i have no idea what firmware it is in now..

im using itunes 8, sadly, if i cant fix this phone, my dad will be very sad..

i think the iphone already has the turbosim in it, i have no idea why it still requires activation through itunes..

turbosim is just a thin plastic sheet with gold plates and a chip on it right?.. u just add that with the sim .. am i right ?

its not mine, ill ask my dad later, he told me through the phone that he updated something through itunes this morning that caused this..

my dad said he tried to jailbreak his iphone 3g, and then he got to this, he tried restoring but it did not work..

i've checked ur siggy , if u were in Miri, im sure i would come to u first..

issit possible for me to jailbreak iphone 3g without having to unlock it? .. my dad used some ibrick software to jailbreak it.. and now it becomes LOCKED .

yes, but the phone was unlocked before the jailbreak attempt..

what do u mean havent activate?. it was working fine this morning, my dad said he wanted to install some 3rd party applications, so he did something to it.. using some ibrick software .. now its LOCKED and Itunes does not want to activate it with DiGi SIM

now im downloading the 2.1 Firmware ... + quickpwn 2.1 ..

i dont own a mac,

i've just fiddled with the iphone 3g and itunes, i tried DFU mode, and it finnaly got recognized on itunes 8!! now itunes is downloading the Software update automatically to restore the iphone ( i hope ).

im lookin on guides on Iclarified for quickpwn to jailbreak the iphone 3g.. ]

internet disconnected, now updating all over again .. 66 minutes more.. =_=

i guess, my dads playing with it now .. >_> i wonder if i get good karma from helping him source for it whole day.. lol
