ATI 4830 PROS AND CONS:
PROS:
1. BEST VALUES OF $$ now..
2. reasonable good performance.
3. UVD 2.
4. best value card before the direct x 11.0 released.
5. reasonable overclocking capabilities.

CONS:
1. still consume a lot of power, but better than GT9800 counterpart.
2. still generate a lot of heat.
3. no direct X 11.0 native hardware supported.
4. overclocking might lead to instabilities due to a lot of heat generated.

yeah.....................i expect 4830 price 2 be much lower.................
but in reality, not much lower den 4850 actually.

i still recommend 9800gt OC over 4830.

That's from nvidia. I read on other websites, their performance are relatively the same. Plus, can 9800gt overclock to 9800gtx? 4830 can do that.

yup..........the article doesn't tell the whole story.
those "chosen" example on the article r all nvidia optimized games, except for call of juarez.
all the result r taken from techpowerup review of 4830.
go techpowerup & check out the original review.
4830 is better den 88/9800gt..................not by much. just a hair ahead dat u'll barely notice.
the problem is not 4830 under performing, is the price.

as for overclocking, 4830 does inherit the heast issues from its older brother so overclocking dis card wit reference cooler wont do u much good.

same goes to 88/9800gt. if u hav SLI board u can slap 2 of those in ur system.
if wanna compare, crossfire scale worst den SLI coz crossfire has poor support.

btw, good new for ATI is, dey already hav blizzard on their side, & now dey r talking to Valve who is really interested wit crossfire multi GPU support.

This is really slideshow from nvidia? sounds childish to me...

and...all of the review that nvidia made into the slideshow was the 560SP version.

nvidia is getting desperate now laugh.gif
but if HD4830 is set to be sold at around RM480, then it would not be that attractive anymore, as it is not that far from HD4850

^ Maybe. Probably require some voltage tweaking. There is a reason why there is normal mode and turbo mode. Probably different voltage values. < Can anyone confirm this?

A few HD4830s were shipped with the incorrect pre-production BIOS, affecting performance:

@cyew86, here another 4670 user report in. tongue.gif
As my opinion the 4830 will be valuable if the price is attractive and lower. If really set at price RM480 then it only a little different price to get the 4850, better get 4850 since performance per value is better. smile.gif

Huh? 3DMark06 cant run on Vista meh? I'm running it in Vista without any hitch.
When it's asking for Dx 9 during installation, just install it. It won't harm the existing Dx 10. nod.gif
