There was no problem to begin with actually, as amd said 4850 are able to withstand such a high temperature.

I'd say 4850 is around 70~80% more powerful than 3870 and 4870 is twice the power of 3870 (100% more powerful)

I've been thinking of 4870x2 xfired (4 cores) + Geforce (whatever that supports physx) for games. Hmmm......
Can't read website, but I guess that guy had the same idea as I did. Geforce for physx, radeon for graphics. I wonder about vantage scores hahahah.

It's meant to be an 8800gt/9800gt(they're the same card anyway) killer. They're going to be RM 400 perhaps.

Bad news, the hotfix for far cry 2 is far from complete. Check guru3d for details. Only a crossfire profile was made (main reason why 4870x2 2GB pwned everyone at far cry 2). Check it out yourself, even at lower resolutions, gtx 260 beats 4870 by quite a big margin.

Too lazy to make a new post. I'm going to wait if I'm ever buying a 4830. Sapphire's cooler looks UGLY(not to mention I like it red better).

Guru3d also launched their 4830 reviews. I think I'll read theirs first. They are good as long as you don't go SLI/Crossfire, cuz they don't use a bad ass processor for sli/crossfire.

That's quite enormous. That will instantly kill R700(4870x2). If they can still fit that much on a small die.. ouch. I hope nvidia has a plan to go against R800 series. The customers seriously need it.

You can always flash it back to regain the warranty .... I'm not sure how but it's possible I believe, I heard someone doing it by using 2 graphic cards(one for display, one for the reflash victim/broken card). Sp he managed to flash it back even if the graphic card doesn't work.

That's from nvidia. I read on other websites, their performance are relatively the same. Plus, can 9800gt overclock to 9800gtx? 4830 can do that.

I don't know man, I see techpowerup was mad enough and overclocked their card with REFERENCE COOLER. What they got was a 3 degrees C bump(from 86 to 89) and a 4850 performance. Their card is missing 80 shaders too.

Yeah, it's bad times. USD is getting exp/RM is getting cheaper, so although our graphic cards are still cheaper(than US) right now, without a doubt it will increase in price. Import... import to US is more exp I think than import to malaysia.

If you look closely, those textures look transparent. It's more like they over-applied their optimisation instead of hiding details.

2 only, ATI doesn't support 8-way crossfire.

If you can see, a 4870x2 has only one Crossfire connector. Are you still telling me that you can combine 4 4870x2s? Plus, it has been explicitly mentioned by AMD that CFX is supported up to 4 graphic cores only.

Anyway, only a few mobos can support that 3 slot card(usually those with 2 graphic card slot). Definitely not most x58, they usually do their arrangement like this. I do see x48s that can handle 2 of Revolution R700 (like DFI's).
