Ya I think so too...
Extended warranty is cheaper than ori vista right? Because I dilemma between getting ori vista and buying extended warranty, or getting the free extended warranty and buying ori vista separately.

Yeah I'll ask them to give free ram upgrade (preferably up to 4gb if possible tongue.gif), is 2gb enough to run vista?

Wow thanks for informing about the heat, Intel it is then.  icon_rolleyes.gif

any model with dedicated graphic card will tend to generate more heat, be it intel based or amd based, right?

What's the CPU usage when playing H264 videos with hardware acceleration enabled? The CPU usage is 70 - 80% for me on 402AX when playing videos. I followed this guide: http://nunnally.ahmygoddess.net/watching-h...eos-using-dxva/ I don't think I used the right settings.

that link is too complicated, I just followed the instructions here, http://mpc-hc.sourceforge.net/DXVASupport.html

playing back Rambo 4 1080p just use about 10% of CPU time, using MPC HC.

one thing u need to be sure of is to avoid VobSub/FFmpeg from loading during the playback, either disable them, or uninstall them.

I tried that one at first but it didn't work so I tried the guide at the link I posted. Could the problem be with my Catalyst driver?

Warning for ATI users : VC1 acceleration is broken in 8.6 release (green frames appears randomly during playback). If you experiments such trouble, please revert to 8.5 build.

hello guys so if i get x4500 with either P7350 or P8400 or P8600 or T6400 or Pentium Dual Core (t4200) will it be the same in terms of HD - Video decoding (dxva) in cpu usage??

or will there be any difference? coz P7350 with x4500 is rm 2200 and for P8600 + x4500 is RM 2650. And with T4200 is RM 1850 so what diffrence will i get in terms of HD video decoding except processor speeds?

Added on April 20, 2009, 1:28 amUsers of Pentium Dual (T4200) or Core 2 Duo (T6400/T6600/P7350/P8400/P8600/etc..)

I have some Questions.

Currently I have 8600m gt with Core 2 Duo T7500 I am fed up with it.
It runs very hot while playing games. even when i watch HD 1080p mkvs using DXVA.

I know that Intel X4500 decodes H.264/VC-1 and Mpeg2 at 1080p fully.
I prefer it because its integrated graphics. I dont Want discrete graphics as gets very hot.

1. So does anyone Played 1080p mkv using hardware acceleration on X4500 using Pentium Dual (T4200) or Core 2 Duo (T6400/T6600/P7350/P8400/P8600)?
on MPC or VLC or Using Core Avc??

2. Does it play Smoothly without any lagging or stuttering on X4500 IGP? No Audio Lag or No Scene Skips and Jittering ZigZags? Using Hardware Acceleration to
process 1080p Videos over Gpu?

3. Does laptop gets hot while you enable Hardware acceleration to play 1080p mkvs?

4. What is the Average Cpu usage? plz post a screenshot.

5. What is the max temperature on your CPU and IGP GPU? while playing 1080p files using Hardware acceleration.
please tell me using Core Temp for Processor temperature and GPU-z and speedfan for X4500 temperature.
please give me a screen if possible.

6. Will it be a difference For HD Video Decoding 1080p mkv using Hardware acceleration between these Processors?
(Pentium Dual (T4200) or Core 2 Duo (T6400/T6600/P7350/P8400/P8600)? except their processing powers?
when using X4500?
Because T4200+X4500 is RM 1800 T6400+X4500 RM 2100 P7350+X4500 is RM 2200 and P8600+x4500 is RM 2700
so will there any difference in HD video decoding using DXVA in Cpu Usgae at all?

7. I browse a lot of Websites and Do a Lot of Youtubing and run at least 4 to 5 programs in the background like
Ms Word ms PPt yahoo messenger firefox acrobat reader flashget Idm etc all at once in taskbar and background.
So which one should you recommend I really like P8600+X4500 as its a damn fast processor but pricey too.

Again Remainder I dont want to use discrete Graphincs even 9300m gs( 8400mgs) My Friends HP also gets very hot using it

All X4500 with diff processor r the same, if u no gaming at all then can juz take that kind of graphic. I think for normal X4500 temperature oso abt 4-5xC, mine hd3450 during gaming is abt 6x.

take XP lor but the screen brightness adjustment will not work, somemore you may need to do some adjustment in the BIOS
*

For those whose screen brightness does not work in XP try this

1. Turn the laptop off
2. Remove the AC adapter
3. Remove the battery
4. Press the power button for 10 seconds
5. Insert the AC adapter
6. Power on and let the laptop boot to XP
7. Try the F7/F8 keys for brightness control

Let us know if it works for you. sweat.gif

Yeap, 80c is about right. So far, nothing spoil. Amd/ati are normally meant to withstand heat. Just really uncomfortable when gaming. Inconveniently the left palm rest, and the fan gets pretty noisy. One of the major downfalls of this lappy, together with the pathetic battery life.
But those on a tight budget....who can resist the price?
