Do you mean except for those running 32 bit Windows? Or what? Sorry I'm kind of confused.

I'm actually interested in the PDC version of the CQ40 as I'm looking for a budget laptop with better battery life, but the "max 2GB ram" spec on the HP site is bothering me as well.
*
If you put in 4GB and use 32bit Windows you can only use 3GB out of the 4GB.

QUOTE(luotang @ Dec 6 2008, 09:04 PM)
thank you very much
because the website state that max 2GB, i am so worry if it cannot run 3GB, wasting my money
i think i will take this model
any thing need to care about?
how to differentiate between a new and a refurbish notebook?
how about the battery? anything to care about that when buying a notebook
*
Max is 4GB. Already stated in lots of post before. To check whether new or refurbished, you can check the serial no at HP website or call HP.

Got HP shop opposite lowyat meh? Care to share info?

The issue is can the system run on dual-channel with 1GB + 2GB stick? Last time I check only laINTELa system can do that. Any info would be much appreciated.

I dont think AMD can run dual channel with different sticks of RAM.

the harddisk for CQ40-115AU is 160GB 5400rpm?
can i change it to 7200rpm?

I think its a good choice but hearing issues with their brand new notebook, especially the one that do not come with Windows (coz you can't give it a try on the spot) makes me think twice. I don't want to keep sending it back to service centre over and over again.

127TX is a lot more expensive than 133AX and 125AX. If you have a tight budget and you want a good gaming laptop, 125AX and 133AX are good choies, but do take note of the heat and also the battery life. AMD overall has a poorer battery life and hotter than Intel processor. That Penryn should be 25W only, if I am not mistaken. So basically 127TX is the best pick but of course the price are about the same. For 9200M GS, i think the performance is about on par with HD3450, if not, better. So, it all depends on your budget... smile.gif I am getting a 125AX though.. 100Mhz extra and 70gb more for hdd for an extra RM 100 doesn't really attract me... tongue.gif

i will getting myself 126au (RM-72 also) since i nid to pay more RM300 more for 133ax to get 3450 (nearly same performance if normal compare to 3200) and 70GB more only....better use it to upgrade my RAM! icon_idea.gif

the price is ok for me since i have the budget...my concern is that some review from other website was saying Nvidia gfx 8k & 9k series r having defects.... and the performance on ATI HD3450 is better than Nvidia 9200MGS and this 9200 is sucking alot of battery life which will not last long hmm.gif . i'm not sure whether all this news is true or not..... hope u all here can advice me on this notworthy.gif

hmm. still deciding which cq40 to go for. going to buy at klcc pcfair most probably.

is it better to get one with pre-installed OS, or get the freedos version (are drivers readily available for xp and vista?)

since 126au uses rm-72 and extra 70gb HDD for rm1649, should it be the best value for money model now? (additional rm100 from 115)
