QUOTE(jimmy_none @ Sep 18 2008, 09:45 PM) Aiyo, typo just now. What I meant was, real power 450w isn't a "true power" as in like 450w output and 550w as the input. My PSU although cap ayam, manufacture claim to have a 80% efficiency... and not 50% like what you said. even if it cannot attain 80%, at least also got 70% from what I read from reviews. |

lol guys..i think instead of arguing whether it's real power or not...concentrate on the 12v rails .. it's usually displayed on ur psu...
if it's written there 12V ll 20 A then the power(watt) = 240 (approx as it will fluctuate) sometimes the manufacturer like CM has 12v ll 18A (stable) hence , power = 216 stable lor off all things, dont take the overall power seriously. the most important thing is check the 12v rails. ps : 12v rails are usually the one used for GC ![]() This post has been edited by picksickrick: Sep 18 2008, 10:44 PM |

just check PSU is stating Peak Continuity +12V1 18A 12A +12V2 16A 10A total 264W.. |

well, even going by railing is not so accurate. i read up somewhere that some psu (cheaper 1) with 3 railings..the 3rd railing tend to b very weak...so it's nothin like true power psu D:

[quote=Siu_Keong,Sep 18 2008, 08:49 PM]Do you try the 4850 in your intel rig at ur sugnature there? Can run smooth by using teh 450watt PSU? Thanks
cant... my intel rig cant support 4850(needs minimum 30A)... need atleast 500w true power... if crossfire need atleast 550w true power to run it... This post has been edited by jepertine90: Sep 18 2008, 11:20 PM |

CM has a psu that support simultaneous dual railing power....not sure about this... Added on September 18, 2008, 10:47 pmooh yeah, 4850 needs minimum 30a |

There should be somewhere written about your PSU's max amp for the 12v rail when combined though I can say it is definitely above 30A...

The PSU only show me the max power 300watt that combine 2 rails (+12vrail1 and +12vrail1), it din show me any max amp. So can my rig support 4850 or not? Thanks for help. |
