yup very true....cuz multi railing psu doesn't necessary means it's good.. i think best is single railing... CM has a psu that support simultaneous dual railing power....not sure about this... smile.gif
*
HI picksickrick, kindly need your help to verify how many power in my PSU 12vrail? And can i use the 4850 GC? thanks.

+3.3v 30A
+5v 30A
+12v1 21A
+12v2 20A
-12v1 1A
+5Vsb 2A

If can, just give me the formula to calculate it, thank again, notworthy.gif

There should be somewhere written about your PSU's max amp for the 12v rail when combined though I can say it is definitely above 30A...
*
The PSU only show me the max power 300watt that combine 2 rails (+12vrail1 and +12vrail1), it din show me any max amp. So can my rig support 4850 or not? Thanks for help. smile.gif

well currently someone is running it with Coolermaster Real Power 450W no problem...intend to try out with my pc as well...so there should be no problem for you..
*
Hi bro, will be appreciate that you let me know as well, if Coolermaster Real Power 450W can run well then my acbel also can. rclxms.gif Will consider to change if 4670 no enough for me. tongue.gif Currently got try to run Sapphire 4850 toxic card no problem, will borrow my fren card and stress test again. hmm.gif Just wondering is the Gainward 4850GS need more power or the Sapphire 4850 toxic need more, anyone had tested it?

My 12v+rail is 21A and 20A combined is 25A since output is 300watt of it. So if Coolermaster Real Power 450W which have 18A and 16A combined is 22A which output is 264watt can run on it, then mine should be no problem but also need to depend other components in the rig as well smile.gif

Thanks for sharing, i will take as reference. Anyway test it in my rig will more accurate tongue.gif

I think they probably set 50% as the minimum. To me 6% and 50% no difference in noise but way better cooling anyways.
Siu_Keong, I think most PC would draw more power anyways. Especially those with more HDD, more expansion cards or more fans/lights in the case.
*
Ya agree, using the eXtreme Power Supply Calculator lfor the PSU b4 but can't calculate my 12v rails since is ite version. But i had run the sapphire 4850 toxic for the game is ok, so will stress test la, Anyway, worst to worst I just to take off my TV card and 1 hard disk lol. tongue.gif If still really can't then change better PSU since so many good seller here hehe. brows.gif

QUOTE(jimmy_none @ Sep 29 2008, 06:51 PM)
yeah exactly...

Good, so the spec is confirm. We tested each other then report to here, hopefully we all can run it well. rclxm9.gif

Never know got this kind of reward in this thread, anyway is a good inspiration for the info or knowledge sharing. thumbup.gif Guys, you got a good club here and nice ambassador for this Gainward. laugh.gif

Red Alert 1 on my 7 years old rig laugh.gif
after getting HD4670 together with my new rig = C&C3 and Red Alert 3
sad huh? laugh.gif
*
Well i play C&C3 everything in high detail with 1920*1080, no problem at all. I bet because it's not a FPS game, and dun need so many 3D rendering.
Pal u not need to sad, i pretty sure u will satisfy and can play a lot of game with ur new baby. smile.gif

QUOTE(lotiman2003 @ Oct 3 2008, 12:42 PM)
I dont think you'll need min 550watt for 4850 at max power. I am using 450w with 4850GS and still manage to crysis at Very Hgh detail.
*
According the ATI recommendation, the HD4850 need at least 450watt or above, somemore urs Corsair is high end PSU la. 450watt almost same with other well know brand 500watt oledi based on the spec comparison. laugh.gif

QUOTE(zhen^wei @ Oct 3 2008, 02:59 PM)
my corsair 650watt (modular) when i CF 2X4850. somtimes it auto shut down. dono not enough power or wat. later need check check.
*
QUOTE(jimmy_none @ Oct 3 2008, 03:27 PM)
disable the auto reboot then you will know is PSU problem or hardware problem
*
hmm.gif modular is 620watt rite? Anyway 620watt also not enough juice for 4850CF? shocking.gif I think mostly is too heat for ur GC, anyway pal hope you can identical the problem and solve it.

Agree with the Jimmy bro method, just analyze whether is the OS or software crash, or is a hardware issue. smile.gif

haha...i still haven't get the gc yet... sad.gif....still waiting for his reply..i am beginning considering of getting end of the year..how about you?
*
Haha i can't test Sapphire 4850 Toxic since no GC in hand now. sad.gif I'm 4670 turbo user mah, so far so good using that card. I also wonder where is the limitation that of 4670 can't use for 24 inch, maybe i only play a little gaming and not so high FPS game, just DMC4 and those C&C game. Now thinking is it worth for me to upgrade, but still wanna know my current rig can support 4850GS. Just want a firm result to confirm yes or not, so my hand won't itchy. tongue.gif

Aiseh, should have waited for Gainward. Worth the wait tongue.gif. EAH4670 has a nice sexy cooler, but the ROG looks nicer xD
Crysis, Warhead, GRID. Meh, DMC4 and C&C don't even strain the GC IMO. Play at your native resolution  brows.gif , sure die even with a 4870x2 it is just barely playable on a 24inch.
*
hmm.gif i play the DMC4 at my native resolution, so maybe u r rite these 2 game don't even can stress my GC haha tongue.gif
I very picky and not really a gaming ppl, so i not suitable for those Crysis, Warhead, GRID high end games lol. laugh.gif

jimmy_none bro, so how is ur test? So far so good to pair with the card with ur PSU?

IMHO, if 4830 launch with the price RM450 above then i think better go for 4850 better since both also using 6 pin and 4830 won't have low power consumption that 4670 and maybe just a bit better than 4850 only. smile.gif

4830 esitimated RM80-100 lower than 4850
*
Hi Zhen Wei, if really as u said then the ATI market strategic is different around every RM100 to up 1 level of his graphic card.
4670 - around RM350+-
4830 - around RM450+-
4850 - around RM550+-
4850+ - around RM650+-

(*+ mean thos GS, turbo, OC version)

Those above just IMHO. smile.gif
