come on la. I know you sell egg (michael tan = mai kai tan = sell egg). But RM999 for 50"?

A few years ago, when you were a small boy in school, and could not piss straight, a 50 inch plasma was RM35,000. Today, it is RM5000.

Who would ever think it would drop from RM35K to RM5K in 5 years?

So what is stopping it from dropping to RM999?

My first basic handphone was RM4000. Today, RM80 also can get better ones.

Save the posts that were laughing at you and refer them back to what they had posted when the price of 50" drop to RM 999.

My Toshiba 34" CRT cost RM 9,000.00 15 years ago. What is the price of 34" CRT now?

Correct, remember the Motorola StarTac? I bought it for £1699 in UK in 1997. Don't know how much it was here, but now, look at handphone prices. Yeah man, I always wanted a 34 inch CRT TV then.

Hi guys, I have the Panny PV80HM, but no matter how I cant be able to seem to use the PC connection (using VGA connection since dont have a DVI-HDMI converter) because I've read that using the PC connection specifically will bypass the TV's internal processing chip.

However, only when during bootup (when the signal is displaying 640x480 SVGA resolution), I can see the bootup menu and the windows loading menu, but after that the monitor goes blank.

Please teach me how to solve this problem so I can start displaying my HD movies on the TV UNTIL i get the moolah to get a graphics card change so that I can have a DVI-HDMI converter.

Any workarounds for this?

Thanks.

PS : I've tried changing the resolution to SVGA and 1024x768 while choosing the Extend my desktop under Control Panel, but to no avail.

Happy CNY!

oi bro, you trying to pull my leg izit? tongue.gif

You know most manufacturers do not sell 34" CRT in Malaysia anymore ba coz most ppl when going bigger screen will get LCD liaw ... You can still get 29" Toshiba CRT for less than 1k

Agreed with you, SD source is best viewed using CRT TV.

agree with you. Best pix quality now for Astro is still CRT. So sharp. Until Astro becomes fully digital, CRT is still King.

My dad bought a Sony 34" CRT 4 years ago.

It took all 4 of us adults to lift it..! And even then we were struggling to put it on its perch on the AV cabinet.

Crazy.

But its Trinitron tube is the undisputed best for SD broadcast.

very rare unit.. only saw it once in HSL.. premium unit.. also available in 32..

widescreen CRTs are short-lived.. sanyo got sell 28 and 32 inches.. as well as samsung slim, widescreen and flat. they are history when 32" lcd tv prices went down the RM2k mark.

saw it displayed for sale in Sony Wings KLCc, something like 8-10k dat time...
I think I would still take this heavy beast over a 37 inch full HD LCD.. (excluding the high price)

that's exactly my point, before plasma reaches RM999 it will stop production.

the costs of raw materials (plastics/glass/electronics/packaging)+transport+ dealers&manufacturer profit will not be able to match RM999 target price so it'll never reach RM999 price point. so please dun simply say it will reach RM999...

funny, once upon a time I had a friend who swore that handphones will never be less than RM500. He told me about the raw materials crap story too.

Friend, I used to use my company's Mobira Talkman on Atur 450 mobile phone. It was something like RM18,000.

Today, the Rm89 Nokia 1200 is far smaller, cheaper and better yet much cheaper. How come they never stopped production?

My Sony analogue handycam cost RM20,000 too when I first bought. Funny how come can get a Sony hadnycam now for RM800 even. But how come they never stopped production?

You need to start shaving first....
