Whats marketing have to do about this?
Most company will push their product first to the area which demand is high.
Then only start shifting to all the other places by demand and supply.
Most end user here and manufacturer is going for intel.
We all know Intel is superior in term of technology.

Hopefully AMD will take back the crown or at least on par with Intel in the near future.

I'm waiting for the new X2 6500.

Unlocked multi + less power usage = I suspect 3+Ghz OCs are easy.

Maybe AMD's Conroe came... 2 years late.

x2 of k10 architecture is of 95w, so they're not so energy efficient if compared to athlon x2, but for sure they'll have better performance if compared clock to clock with its predecessors. smile.gif

AMD has dual core K10s, GE-6400/500/600 that run at same clock speeds and use 45W.

It's only a matter of voltages. The BE is overvolted to make OCing easier without going overboard, I suppose.

Overall power consumption would still be in between 50-70W for stock volts. 2.8G+ then you'd need extra voltages.

The 45nm X2 part... 30W standard? We'll see when Regor (2MB L2, no L3, "K10.5") comes.
