Greetings metalheads! I'm new to the forum. I'm from England originally, currently living in Kuala Lumpur. After lurking this thread I figured this was the best place to ask...Where's the best place to find out about gigs going on in KL? Websites/magazines/venues? etc. I'd love to check out the scene on this side of the world.

maybe you can check regularly at Number One Cafe, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman. Personally i haven't been there but from info that i have gathered from old-timer here, several underground metal band have perform at that cafe before.

If you like to buy some rare music you can visit Acoustic Music Station at Pertama Complex, but the price there are slightly expensive than normal retail price. Other alternative you can visit Campbell Complex, there are supposed to be 2 shop built for Metalheads which sell merchandise and music but i'm not sure about their names. Both of these 2 complex located at Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (near Sogo shopping complex). You can reach there via Putra LRT stop at Dang Wangi station or KL Monorail stop at Medan Tuanku station and walk there for about 200m, and of course you'll sweating a lot.

don't forget to ask the shopkeeper about venue or gigs around KL. They surely can help you and sometime they sell tickets for gigs too.
