So there you have it, Dell Studio XPS 1640 RGB LED Display is better than the HP HDX 16t on images and movies (sorry to burst your bubble here, Enigmare don't get me wrong HP HDX 16 is a great machine; it's just that both companies have different approach in building a multimedia notebook); but Sony FW might be better than Dell Studio XPS 1640 on color reproduction. I've come across with a 15" Sony VGN series laptop, the brightness and colors are truly breathtaking.

there's this belief that ATi cards produce better colours than Nvidia

moreover ATi's UVD offers excellent support for HD videos compared to Nvidia's PureVideo 2

thus for a multimedia notebook (read: not gaming), HD 3670 is a pretty good choice imho

not for core 2 duo, especially laptops...

the bottleneck is at the FSB...

though DDR3 works at lower voltage compared to DDR2, thus should save a bit of power...

so the speed is slight increase and the power draining is slightly lower?am i correct?

great for you, but not so great for some others. a design flaw for me.
a laptop with numerical button looks weird since the keyboard isn't centered on the screen. or maybe because i'm just used to the normal setup that have the keyboard centered to the screen.

and though it helps you with the data entry, it doesn't help me with my lotta typing. one man's meat is another man's poison right?

power part, yes...

but for speed, i dun think u'll even notice it if there is...

Are these laptops comparable with the BenQ s42?

benq s42 is better in spec and the price.

the diff between price is higher as well.

Added on January 13, 2009, 5:10 pmYou can't really compare Dell Studio XPS 13 & 16 with BenQ's S42, in fact you can't even compare between all three of them; Studio XPS 13 has a 13.3" screen size, Studio XPS 16, a 16" screen while the BenQ S42, a 14.1" screen; screen size affects both weight and battery performance. Besides that BenQ S42 has Hybrid graphics capabilities while both Studio XPS 13 & 16 doesn't. Dell has options for a Blue-Ray optical drive; DVD super-multi for BenQ S42. When it comes to price, the BenQ S42 should be cheaper compare to Dell Studio XPS 16; not sure it'll stack against Studio XPS 13.

still no decent review for xps 13 yet. would really like to see how well it performs compare with other 13" in this price range..
