Philips quality sucks. BOTH my 5996 and DVDR3600 just went back for warranty claim. My barely used 5996 HDMI died, and my DVDR3600 can't read or format DVDRs/DVDRWs. Both units are less than 6 months old... tongue.gif

My Pioneer DV410 which I throw every crap DVD I have at it daily? Chugging along perfectly. smile.gif

Hi, comparing pioneer dv410 and sony 708, which one has better PQ and not sensitive in playing any DVD. I've read in some review saying that 708 is sensitive with scratched disc? But some say it can play any disc w/o any hassle.
Sony is having promotion in carrefour and Jusco selling for RM299. Pioneer is till RM399 at Jusco.

Thanks.

my dv-410 has problem reading dirty/scratched discs.. and apparently it cannot handle unfinalized dvd-r burned with divx files. first time load, can play. second time burn, load, cannot play. and the disc cannot be used for multisession anymore.

Me too need advice on same model. Saw that same model in carefoure, wondering how's the model on par with other well known e.g. LG 392H, Pioneer 410. The box printed HD Ready cum 1080p.

Appreciate anyone could share his/her experience.

cheers

Hi,

Anyone know can Cornell DVD player DV3080H show the full filename longer than 8 chars in the USB drive?

I know DV-410 has some problem, filename truncated. need firmware hack to fix this.
LG DV392 has no such issue at all.

If Cornell can do that without such problem it will be PERFECT!

I have one....
1. Can upscale to 1080p.
2. Does not remember upscaling option... have to press HD button on remote everytime.
3. Some DivX cannot play (which can play on my Pioneer DV610).
4. PQ cannot compare with Pioneer DV610.
5. USB filename... truncated.
6. For the price... cannot complain lah....
