Bought Pioneer 410 last night. Overall satisfied with it. But, when I connect the Digital Audio Out using optical cable, there's no sound. It's only for DVD that support digital audio is it ?

QUOTE(tangks51 @ Mar 22 2009, 05:14 PM) Hope that you have got your sound by now. Anyway also for Xchris infor, there is an optical and a coaxial output for 5.1 sound. You need to connect this with the appropriate cable to your av amp to get the sound. You must remember not to connect your rca cables to the same input in your av amp as rca can override your digital input. What you can do is to connect either optical/coaxial to dvd input and rca to CD input in your av amp. So you can hit the dvd buttion for digital sound and cd button for analog. Doby or dts is selected using the dvd player if the feature is present in the dvd itself. Unfortunately i still unable to get the digital audio through optical cable. But i think it's not the Pioneer at fault, bcos i tested the DVD on xbox360 with optical out, also no audio except high pitch noise. I think my JS DVD doesn't support digital audio. The below RM400 investment is value for money as you can now see dvds using the full screen in your full HD LCD without the distortion caused by using the zoom function of the LCD TV. As far as which player gives the best picture, I think you've got to find a retailer who is willing to match each player with your current LCD TV. I'm pretty happy with my pioneer 410 with my Sony Bravia 40s400 and old Onkyo av txds595 which are all budget equipments. Anyway, i'm getting coaxial cable to test again with Pioneer player, if possible, will get original DVD to test as well. |

QUOTE(99below0 @ Mar 25 2009, 04:08 PM) Philips quality sucks. BOTH my 5996 and DVDR3600 just went back for warranty claim. My barely used 5996 HDMI died, and my DVDR3600 can't read or format DVDRs/DVDRWs. Both units are less than 6 months old... how long u been using ur Pioneer DV410 ?My Pioneer DV410 which I throw every crap DVD I have at it daily? Chugging along perfectly. |
