Guys..what is more economical? fixing a KDK fan or buying a new one? Mine when put to fastest speed it it will slowly gain speed but then something happens and it slows down again..and it will repeat..can be fixed?

It kind'a get 'stuttered'/shakes a little bit and didn't achieve the required speed..it will slow down a bit and then try to gain speed again and the same thing happened..I think the motor got some problem..

My KDK Ceiling fan model K15Y6, when running full tilt, the middle part, inner circular panel where they got the lock and open sign kinda goes "klack" and shake a little from time to time. What could be wrong??
*
After observing the fan and playing with the remote, now understand what is going on. sweat.gif
Whenever the speed is changed e.g via remote, it gors klack once.
When in Yuragi mode (Natural breeze) the speed changes randomly, so it goes klack klack klack randomly tongue.gif

Think that mode is natural breeze, making random wind speed. My have this, but speed change don't have any sound. Except the other model when I switch from 3to 2, or to lower speed. Will have klung

My initial plan was to get KDK fans (K14X8-GY or K14Y9-GY) but I have received many comments (including my main contractor) that I should not because my ceiling height is only 8' 8" which is too low.

1. How true is that? The height of K14X8-GY & K14Y9-GY are 375mm (~1'3") and 466.8mm (1'7"). The recommended height told is >7' from floor to the fans

2. What are other recommended brands and models? Reliability is the priority. (of course budget is one of the priorities too)

I have checked, both KDK and Panasonic models are around 380mm (around 14 inches) which barely leave 7 ft of space for my 8 ft 8 inches ceiling height.

Any member here has experience or knowledge if it is fine to get these fans?

Also, besides KDK & Panasonic, which alternative brands out there with shorter dimension, excluding baby fans?

hi all, for a low ceiling, what would be the best fan, or the best height for the fan?

depending on the fan, i will likely still use the hook, but cut a hole in the ceiling for the fan..
