Alpha recommends to leave a gap of at least 1m from the blade tips to the nearest wall

user posted image

according to this you should be ok with 40", even 36" is fine

Thanks, so websites recommend at least 50cm so I wasn't sure which to trust.

My master bedroom has a 14 feet length x 10 feet width, and at the far end of the longer side I plan to put my desk, not sure a 40" fan will be able to "reach" the end...

Assuming the fan is in the center of the room, the longer side will have about 1.6m of clearance, while the shorter end will have exactly 1m of clearance (not yet factor in cabinet). Should I opt for 46" in this case or 40" is still sufficient with 1.6m clearance to cool my desk area?

Is your cabinet full height? In that case try to position your fan correctly so it could have at least 1m clearence on both sides. Always try to make sure all sides have equal or at least the minimimum distance to your fan blade

can check other series from Alpha like Alkova series but sizes are generally larger and more expensive (alkova is their flagship range i think)
*
Alkova over my budget.
For us not really need expensive fans cause new house facing the hills with trees. Very windy sometimes.
Cosa is the cheapest series. Heard many failures while I am reading from here in LYN, Vannus Series is after Cosa as the medium range.
Alkova is the most expensive, I checked Alkova Racer and Axis price looks high to me.
Vannus suitable for me. Cosa I wanted to try but I heard after 3 months then rosak.
The showhouse use Vannus for living and dining mid range.
Cosa for rooms which is the low range.

Sometimes the most basic solution to keep a hot room exacerbated by high powered desktops cool, is to mount an exhaust fan on the window and keep it running 24/7 laugh.gif

Yeah full height cabinet on one end of the room. See the pic below, assuming 46" fan and mounted center of the room, horizontally the clearance is below 1m (around 0.5m to the cabinet but I guess it's ok) but the vertical clearance is a lot - will be around 1.5m.

Not sure if going up to 52" will increase the coverage? or 40"/46" is enough

To me i feel like 40" is enough, maybe can stretch to 46" and that should be the max. You dont necessarily need a big fan to feel the wind, the spacing is also important actually. No point getting a big fan but not enough spacing for the airflow to circulate. If you feel the wind is not enough at the bed area, maybe get an extra standing fan

Also some people mind about this, a bigger fan will have a higher chance of creating shadows when you turn on the lights

Take my advice with a pinch of salt though, am not an expert. Maybe try asking around more

does fan with Yuragi feature really make a difference today ? or depends on preference ? i demo it in mall and feel a bit strange not sure if use it long hour then it will make a difference ?
*
Yuragi is kinda useless... fast and slow alternating, like wind... but if you are hot, you want the fan at full blast. I would say the usage is very case specific like some rare people I met that had difficulty being blown by wind directly.

If you ask me, I would rather have the yuragi works differently aka blowing fast for a minute then slow between 30-60seconds... right now they are alternating every few seconds. I find it rather useless because it took few seconds to ramp up the speed from slow to fast and then less than 3seconds already slow again.

There is a new type out there now that has a temp to control the fan speed automatically... I think this might be more useful...

Hi guys,

Mind to share why BAYU 4 OR 5 are lemon units? What are the issues with them?

Thanks.

Blardy fan at max speed is so weak that there's no wind at all. Can't even blow off a tissue paper on the table even if you leave the fan running for hours on max speed.

Sold off and put in a KDK 4 blade remote (the cheap model at 300 bucks range) at mid speed only - the tissue dunno fly where in mere seconds.

There’s some blade tech involved. If budget ok for 400+ range the Vtouch jr with abs blade is awesome

Budget?
Alkova Axis got 42" model but expensive.
If you want cheaper got like 40" or 46"
I bought the Vannus Luna 40" and 46" for my sister's new house.
Haven't fix yet. Waiting to buy lights and fix together.

Ya. Vannus and Alkova series quite ok.
Can ask ZeneticX as he is using Vannus Series.
I also bought haven't install yet. Avoid that D*K* brand.
Rezo brand I think quite ok also.

Alpha DC fan quality considered solid for the price

Most complaints came from their AC fans
