2. Alpha Alkova 56 and 42

some review from friends are saying Alpha and Fiero(maybe because under deka). are not very reliable and not tahan although both give u 10yrs motor guarantee.

Appreciate if you guys have any feedback from user point of view. thank you sifuss..

Anyone actually use the reverse function on a fan? What's the purpose anyway?

Personally, I am not into designs because when the fan is in use, nothing can be seen.

Smooth and quiet wind flow is important.

Bought 3 sets of PANASONIC NAMI 4 Blade Ceiling Fan 2 months ago.

another question....what is different between ac motor fan & dc motor fan in term of fan usage? energy saving?

I think you use this function when you turn on the AC and fan together. That way, the cold wind from the AC is pushed upwards towards the ceiling so that room cooling is more uniform (i.e. not direct).

Anyways, am currently using the Alpha AX70 fan for my house. So far, 3 months usage with no issues. Will update this thread if anything.

I have a NSB fan that was installed awhile ago and the remote didn't work after awhile. Went to get a new remote from their warehouse. The installer installed it wrongly last time so it pulled wind up. Changed it and there was a better breeze but over the years it has become slower and slower at low speed. Only has 2 speeds. High and low. Low is REALLY slow. It's NSB Asta. It's now making a ticking sound and there's a bit of a hum.

I did ask to change the board or something but it'll cost some for their servicemen to come. About RM50 to check. RM35 for labour + spare parts cost.
That is already 1/2 price of a Deka Kronos F5DC (~RM200).

I'm thinking to install the Deka Kronos F5DC on my own. But seeing the Deka thread and the bad experiences I'm not sure. How bad can it be? As bad as my NSB?

I'm thinking of self-installing the ceiling fan but not sure if I'm brave enough to handle the wires connecting to my fan from ceiling. Are they all same for DC and AC?

I changed out the KDK K14y9 PCB on my own the other day. I know it's very basic to do but it felt like an accomplishment!

I changed out my ceiling fan!

I changed out my NSB Asta 56 with a Deka F5DC fan! The Asta only had 2 speeds and at low speed it was like it wasn't moving. Everything is made of metal.
The Asta was as heavy as a bowling ball and this F5DC is a lot lighter so it appears to be wobbling more than it should. It's silent though. It has a breezy sound. Not sure if I should worry about the wobble.
It took me many hours because I couldn't put my wires into the connecting board. I don't know why it didn't want to lock in. Everything else was quite easy. I'm not sure if I should install the balancing kit. I think the DC driver might cause it to be a lopsided on one side.

For Patah issue, many cases? Or you just heard only? So far I only saw one case and that rumours spread all over.

If new installed and got issue, just give Deka customer service a call. They will come to settle very fast.

The Deka blades can't break that easily. They are actually quite sturdy from the feel of it. They aren't hollow inside. In my opinion, they are a little fat so they make wind sound. But it's safer. I feel those metal fan blades can slice you in half if it dropped on you.

At speed 1, it wobbles a little more. At speed 2, it's breezy and better. At speed 7, it's like a windy day and quite noisy. I'm not sure if I want to fix the wobble. It's not making any noise at all. Silent as a mouse except for the wind noise coming from the blades. When I was trying to get the darned wires into the wire board, I kept tilting it to check how to get the wires in. And it was so lightweight I could lift it off the hook.

The NSB Asta I had was AC and HEAVY. And maybe that's why the motor couldn't last because it was trying to move something too heavy. But heavy would mean it won't wobble so much? While the fan blades were plastic, they had these weighty metal covers. So the whole thing definitely weighed 3 times more than the Deka.

I had to buy these wire connectors because I couldn't use what they provided. I'm just really bad at wiring. There must be an easier way to get things to connect to one another. The NSB Asta, the electrician just intertwined the red/brown and black/blue wires together. But I think that's because it's AC. And when I was watching Youtube videos, I noticed the guy guy had a the blue and brown wire just connect to the DC driver. Their DC driver didn't have black and red wire.

Update: I think this is why AC PCB fan boards die fast because the fans are so heavy. Like my KDK I am pretty sure was quite weighty too. When i was trying to adjust it, it felt heavy.

Do DC ceiling fans run at constant speed? I was reading the box and it said that it's 38 watts. Is this constant at all speeds?

i think the reason for the wobble is because i overtightened the pulley part that's hanging on the hook. if that part is too rigid, the bottom part will wobble more.. as long as the cotter pin is in, it should be safe. i'm going to loose it later to see if it helps.

Tighten the mounting bolt (its using two spanners with 13/14mm or was it 12/13mm) and also the part where the fan blades mount onto the hub with 2 screws.
If still wobble, blade order from 1-2-3-4-5 swap to 1-3-2-4-5 and see if it helps. Usually its slight variation (78.0 target grams but they put in 77.9 with 4pcs 78.2 - mathematically will round down to 78.0 but depends on their QC tolerance) or installation looseness. Supposedly, all blades are matched as a set from factory.

If you get a growling grok grok sound it is normal lah for bayoo. the fan design is lemon, coz blade scraping on the hub even when the cover is all removed is not something the user can mess up.

I heard that pana will charge you if its deemed to be installation error (not product failure like fan dead)

so i tried to adjust the blades, still wobbling
tried to adjust the pulley, still wobbling. now when i look at it, it's worse
and my brown and blue cable fell out of the connecting board because it's not secure. i might just buy another connecting board to use. it's hard when to get it secured when it's stuck to the pole.

can the wire not send enough electricity if not all the little wires are connecting? the way i connected is like... i'm afraid it'll fall apart again.

sigh. there's a ticking sound now.
