Nowadays KDK = panasonic? Many people saying both is the same just with different case...

Yup, same motor but different appearance.

The noise is actually from the center cover, i took it off then become silent.

I think it is better to reposition your lights which I think is too near to the fan.

Is not difficult to replace but depending on your length requirement, a shorter length from original may not fit the two covers.

Thanks but these are official down rods.

I bougbt 5 kdk regulator fan 5 years ago and only 1 encountered noise currently.

Early this year, I bought 2 Pana Nami fan, no issues so far.

My other 2 Pana 5 blades fan (forgot the model) since 10 years ago starting to show some sign on and off. Time to upgrade.

Actually Panasonic also change the board design and now more lasting. Previous model with flat cover, guarantee every year need to change capacitor. Even Nami not spared.

Later model with round cover had a much better board design and also they change the main 1.8J capacitor to a much beefier capacitor. After I got rid of all my old bayu 5 and replaced it with new Bayu 5, no capacitor problem for years. I still do keep some capacitor to maintain a couple of older bayu and nami fans in my parent's house.

I think i'm an old school people not looking at fancy design but rather functionality. I got 8 ceiling fans in my house, all KDK brand.
3x Sensa 5 K15Z5-QEY - RM600+
2x K14Y2 - RM400+
3x K14YZ - RM300+
Those are the price 7 years ago.

2x Sensa 5 K15Z5-QEY and 2x K14Y2 is considered use the most with weekday roughly 4 hours per day at mid speed, and 12 hours during weekend served me for 7 full years now (accumulated 12k+ hours per fan), without having a single issue, not even bearing/vibration noise, speed wise remained same as new without capacitor change.
The cheapest K14YZ sometimes is noisy due to cover rattle and those were seldom used anyway.

So you get what you pay, but at least i have no regret with KDK fan, those are 'real fan' doing the job that supposed to do, my relative/friend who use those fancy/decorative fan already change at least once in 7 years due to noise/motor malfunction so at the end the cost even higher.
*
That is true. The best VFM one was a RM249 sensa new old stock from HLK.
KDK the best.

One with unmodded design because KDK prod line not the same as the Pana one
one with cost cutting measures that is best summarised not worth the RM10 savings.

i wonder can i fix the fan, or let's say is it worth a fix? shakehead.gif
i personally like the fan, strong air flow and no noise at all drool.gif

is that the case?
5 blades is slower than 4 blades?
*
Fan performance is measured by airflow. More blades mean the fan can operate at a slower speed but achieve the same air flow - also mean quieter.

just a common bedroom size in 1k sf condo so should be fine i guess

was initially going to buy panasonic bayu 5 but kdk seems cheaper and reliable based on the posts here. should i get kdk instead or i should consider other brands?

Either pana or kdk is ok.

Mid year, i bought 2 sets of Pana Nami 42 inches to replace the 12 years alpha 56 fan. Kdk also have the similar design but we prefer the shorter rod type + silver.
