Hi to those who have Deka fans, anybody has any experience that when using at the lowest speed after a few hours, there's some sort of grinding noise. The speed is not affected but there's a constant grinding noise like friction between 2 parts. Any way to solve it?

Any suggestions for a 42inch ceiling fans?

So far I've only seen Alpha and Rubine brands that produce for this size.

Sounds like a Capacitor issue, last time old KDK remote control fan can last more than 10 years without slowdown, now probably like 3 years then got slowdown and making humming noise

yes ...old time like 8years ago ..the fan quality really super..

but 5years ago ...the fan quality drop to bottom line ...the manufacturer already calculated life time for the usage ..

failure rate is high compare to 8years ago ...

I think Panasonic remote fan quality has been improved compared to last time.

Let me count the number of fans I had to maintained... for both mine and parents house.

2x new yuragi 5 blades (2015)
1x old yuragi 4 blades (2008)
3x old bayu 4 (2015)
3x old bayu 5 (2015)
2x new bayu 5 (2017)

So far, I find that the older version really problematic. Change capacitor almost once a year. The most problematic was the old Bayu5 and Yuragi 4 blades. 6months after capacitor change would still give a lot of sound and speed issue. I already took both of them out because too lazy to maintain. Before that, I even took the time to change the bearing which works like charm for few months before it also start to hum.

The most surprising is the 2x new bayu5. The new one has this rounded cover versus the old one with a sharper edge. I already used it for 2years+ and no issue at all. The old version would have start giving issue around 1.5years or so. It was so good that I even had 2 spares because it was cheap previously (bought for <RM200). I also had a Sharp 5 blades (bought out of curiosity and also mistaken for KDK for whatever reason) with reverse function which I had not had time to install to try.

Budget 200+- each , looking at the 3 blade remote kdk is it a good choice , or perhaps other ? Sifu can recommend?

Hi Sifus ,

I'm planning to install a ceiling fan at the family area upstairs for my new house. However i found the ceiling was a bit too high. Most people just recommend a wall fan or stand fan instead. Is there any solution to install ceiling fan for such high ceiling and ensure stability and safety?

Any recommendations would be much appreciated. Thanks!

How high is too high?? There are big fans around unless yours is 20ft high

plan to replace with Panasonic FM15GW or maybe stick to alpha brand with 1/2 of the mention panasonic price.. any better idea? or just repair it again?

I have 1 alpha ceiling fan wt light since 2010 & 2 normal 5 blades ceiling fan since 2015; all still run wtout problem & reliable.
I can confirm U that deka/nsb more problematic than alpha. Panasonic/kdk depend on yr luck especially bayu fan. Best if u choose econavi fan or 3 blades regulator. If u want FM15GW, the light will on by default, u have to adjust brightness everytime u on it, no memory.

Hi there, i'm looking into getting FM15GW, are you owning one and confirm that the light will be on by default every time turn on the fan power switch?

Thanks.
