Wow, nice deal! thumbup.gif rclxms.gif

I lent my modem+Celcom broadband D98 to my best friend, since she has problem with Streamyx at her house. She just tested in her room, her house is located in 4th Mile of Port Dickson and she got full 5 bars of HSDPA! shocking.gif Even my house is only with 1 bar of UMTS, forcefully. shakehead.gif She was talking on phone while monitoring the speed and the received rate shown on the modem dialer was around 5Mbps. sweat.gif doh.gif

Ah.. me also Cheras. No wonder speed so slow.

BTW, does APN play a role in connection? Coz I was using umobile and celcom. I forgot to switch the profile to celcom but I managed to connect to celcom using umobile APN. Speed also quite stable during midnight, dlding at 50kbps (UMTS only).

HSDPA? not even once i get when at here...

The package with modem is still available, maybe they don't want to offer at pc fair. You can go straight away to any Celcom branch. RM 799 for modem, that's quite expensive. You can get RM 359 for Huawei e220 at garage sales.

Hi Soundsyst64,
You still faced connection problem at night (since 24th July)? As for me, last Friday and Saturday, not problem. I didn't surf on Sunday and Monday night. So, don't know any problem or not.

For Kuching people, especially who lives near or inside Universiti Malaysia Sarawak.

A Celcom technician call me just now, saying that there's network congestion occured starting from 12PM - 3AM everyday, but it may start early around 9AM. Most the traffic is from UNIMAS students because there's no phone line installed at nearby housing areas.

The only Celcom tower that covers UNIMAS and part of Taman Desa Ilmu is inside the UNIMAS, and the other one is near the roundabout to UiTM Sarawak.

They already propose a new tower built at Taman Desa Ilmu to increase the available traffic, and also handle future traffics. The new tower will serve the customer early next year.

P/S: Sila bersabar.
