QUOTE(multiplexer @ Aug 6 2008, 02:58 PM) i notice that there are range of ip address that stable and unstable. normally for surfing, those ip address starts from 10.188 or 10.58 is good enough. but when it comes to downloading files, those ip address wont give u more than 10Kb. 10.176.x.x is the lousiest ip range. but for downloading, from my experience, 10.141 would give you the 3g speed. whenever i want to download some files, i do connect and disconnect in order to get the 10.141 ip address... He is right....its true...it may vary from you guys.. but these are truly from my experience.. |

Thank God, I've never faced frequent disconnection. My connection can stay at least two days unless I disconnected myself. The longest record for my connected Celcom Broadband was 5 days.

I'm done testing celcom. Conclusion, maybe it's due to network problem or whatever, I can't seem to get good speed at all at my place, Cheras Miharja. UMTS all the way.
Morning, can browse but can't meebo. Download can go up to 50kbps if lucky. Night can't browse can't msn can't do shit. Just can download at 10kbps the most. |

Last time they said got network problem until 30th May, then 30th June, then 5th July...while still asking for RM98 a month. Ditch them already! |

There are 2 possibilities; network problem or nework traffic congestion. That's what the technician tell me over phone recently. Here at Sarawak, don't have much choice. Only got DiGi and Celcom. I need to let the connection active and don't want to shut down my lappy. Hoping for DiGi to release their 3G package as early as possible. |

Don't hope too much on Digi. Even if they roll out 3G, it will not reach Kuching so soon. Even if Kuching has Digi 3G coverage, Kota Samarahan may still need to wait... Streamyx for years still have reach Kota Samarahan. You should be grateful to Celcom

Recently, the users grow up so fast, especially UNIMAS student. The only HSDPA tower is inside UNIMAS, and for me who lives outside UNIMAS having difficulties to connect. Now, Celcom will built another tower, but need to get approval from Sarawak Government before proceed. |

For the coming 1yr or more, your best bet is still Celcom...
Let's hope the Sarawak Government can approve the tower construction asap... BTW, did you know that Wimax is testing in Kuching's "twin tower" area? Not sure how true is the story. QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Aug 7 2008, 11:39 AM) |

Packet One Networks will introduce the WiMax service here in Sarawak at year 2010. The office is at MAA Tower, Ban Hock Road. QUOTE(chyaw @ Aug 7 2008, 12:54 PM) |
