hey folks,

I'm UTM Skudai student... interested to get a Celcom BB soon... any existing user around skudai area can give feedback about the speed and service in this area?

And, what is the recommended (and cheap!) modem that has LAN port? Reason i choose LAN over usb is the antenna (to get better signal?) and planning to share connection with my room-mate later.

Thanks... notworthy.gif

D50 = D98 in all aspects. Your biggest advantage is that you only be paying rm50 monthly as compared to rm98 the rest of the poor sods here are paying.  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif  rclxms.gif

how to subscribe to that package?

Hi,

I've just registered D98 last saturday. Today tested at UTM Skudai with 4 bar HSDPA signal, only manage to get 100kbps at speedtest.net. Why so slow?

Oh, then you may try... But latency is quite high, observe some time first then only change. wink.gif
I suggest you terminate your D68 then only apply a new line for D98, don't straight upgrade. They take long time to do it and you may leave with no connection for few days. smile.gif

but u have to pay extra rm10 for stamp duty.. tongue.gif

Yes, but the opportunity cost is time consumption. laugh.gif
Some forummers here needed to wait few days only got activated while some already started paying for RM 98 for 1 month plus but no improvement for the connection. sweat.gif
For me, I terminated my D68 and registered new D98 with new SIM card. Syok because got activated less than 6 hours. rclxm9.gif

but with that, wont u get double bill later?

hi all....
im using the D68 package in UTM johor....
kolej 10 for those UTM students out there....
the speed sucks big time....
torrent max can reach 60kb/s....
average speed is around 3 to 4 kb/s.....
browsing averrage speed is 20kb/s.....
im using huawei e220 modem....
the signal strength shows full strength HSDPA everytime....
but speed still sucks.....
but during the holidays when everyone else has gone back.....
the browsing speed can reach max 384 kb/s......
i so miss the raya days when all hav gone back home and i can surf like hell.....
oh .....
when the modem signal shows UTMS instead of HSDPA...
the speed is notably quicker....
around 150kb/s....
why is tat so ....??
anyone can help me change the connection to UMTS permanently....?
i duno how to do it with e220.....

For my case .34 is not a good IP as I don't get to utilise my BT speed. sad.gif
But some that got .130 claimed to be very bad IP, try to avoid yourself from getting it... smile.gif

If you are on BT, try to limit your BT bandwidth?
I was once like that but after I limited my BT bandwidth, it looks OK and seldom faces with disconnection. smile.gif

i didn't bt on my celcombb... heck there's no other connection running other than ym...

live msgr(version 2008 build 8.5) can connect but after connected for less than 1 sec, it will dc... rclxub.gif rclxub.gif
