Hi Soundsyst64,
You still faced connection problem at night (since 24th July)? As for me, last Friday and Saturday, not problem. I didn't surf on Sunday and Monday night. So, don't know any problem or not.

Don't hope too much on Digi. Even if they roll out 3G, it will not reach Kuching so soon. Even if Kuching has Digi 3G coverage, Kota Samarahan may still need to wait... Streamyx for years still have reach Kota Samarahan. You should be grateful to Celcom sweat.gif

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Aug 7 2008, 11:22 AM)
There are 2 possibilities; network problem or nework traffic congestion. That's what the technician tell me over phone recently.

Here at Sarawak, don't have much choice. Only got DiGi and Celcom.  I need to let the connection active and don't want to shut down my lappy.
Hoping for DiGi to release their 3G package as early as possible. doh.gif

For the coming 1yr or more, your best bet is still Celcom...
Let's hope the Sarawak Government can approve the tower construction asap...
BTW, did you know that Wimax is testing in Kuching's "twin tower" area? Not sure how true is the story.

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Aug 7 2008, 11:39 AM)
I know that. Recently, the users grow up so fast, especially UNIMAS student. The only HSDPA tower is inside UNIMAS, and for me who lives outside UNIMAS having difficulties to connect. Now, Celcom will built another tower, but need to get approval from Sarawak Government before proceed.

Wah! 2010??? Anyway, I don't think P1 can meet the target...

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Aug 7 2008, 01:41 PM)
Never heard about that, but after some Googling, I found this : http://www.theborneopost.com/?p=36056&print=1

Packet One Networks will introduce the WiMax service here in Sarawak at year 2010. The office is at MAA Tower, Ban Hock Road.

Hi zamans98,
I suggest you bring your bills to Celcom office to clarify the matter. Don't bother to talk to CS via phone (they normally don't give you the correct answer).
Theoretically, you should not be charge any cent for using GPRS on D68.
FYI, I also used GPRS on D68 before (few months back), but no charges on usage.

what the fuxx happen to the RM250 limit?

Hi Soundsyst,
I wonder what is the coverage area of one tower. FYI, we're just 7km (straight line) away based on Google Earth. My speed is not affected by UNIMAS students!!!
Why stay in Kota Samarahan? So congested (road and also bb). Move to Kuching lar!

If Celcom wants to give promotion, they should give free netbook since netbook is much cheaper than notebook!!!

Mr Cola,
Pls pass this message to Celcom. Thanks! thumbup.gif

QUOTE(soundsyst64 @ Aug 14 2008, 07:44 AM)
Yup, that's why I felt this notebook seems overpriced after reading the terms and condition.

can you let us know what modem/hp model you're using?
anyway, good signal doesn't translate into good browsing speed (especially during peak hours).
PS: lately it seems the Celcom BB is slower than usual... But speed is good enough for general browsing.

QUOTE(zjye @ Aug 22 2008, 09:18 AM)
hi i subscribed celcom wireless broadband D98 thru a handphone agent, last 2 days i tried at my place and found the signal show "very good", but the web browsing speed is slow like snail. I m staying at Wangsa permai, Kepong, 12th floor.

I have some questions and hope who experience before can share:
Is my setting got problem? how come the signal show "very good" but web browsing speed is very slow.

If i terminate my subscribed plan (D98) now, can i refund my fees and what is the procedure?

I think something not right. Your speed is extremely slow. You may want to do some testing to identify the root cause of the problem (modem setting, hardware, location, etc). E.g. if you have 3G hp, try using it to see whether the problem is modem or not. Other simple tests are use you bb from your friend's notebook or their house. Once you narrow down the root cause, it will be easy to troubleshoot.
Your location is in Sarawak due to shared ip.
Sorry, I don't have knowledge in Sierra wireless aircard...
One more thing! Call Celcom customer service to check whether your D98 plan is activated or not.

QUOTE(zjye @ Aug 22 2008, 11:29 AM)
I m using Sierra Wireless AirCard 875U, another thing i found out is i try to use speedtest.net (load almost one hour) and it show my location is locate at sarawak, is that true?

Hi,
There no activation fees for Celcom BB. That's your 1st mth subscription fee. Anyway, Celcom should charged you RM10 only not -RM58.

QUOTE(ravemaster222003 @ Aug 27 2008, 12:47 PM)
data plan only. nooo actually i bit confuse....
When i bought it, i pay 2 item....
1) Modem = RM399
2) Activation = RM68

That all....

Hi,
I think your statement is not fully correct.
Stability is depends on reception, but speed is depends on network, no of users, etc. smile.gif

QUOTE(linkeong @ Sep 3 2008, 06:52 PM)
The speed depends on your reception, if more bar your speed will be more stable. Tested 2 bar HSDPA around 400kbps and unstable, switch to 3g full bar and stable at 350kbps

Hi Savor_Savvy,
I'm not from Kota Samarahan, but from Kuching (7km radius from Kota Samarahan). My download speed can reach 120kBps max, but never reach the theorectical speed of 450kBps. On good day, my max average speed is around 100kBps (Torrent or direct download).

QUOTE(Savor_Savvy @ Sep 9 2008, 02:56 PM)
Anyone know how's the speed if i subscribe to D98??? The dwnload speed will increase to 100+++ kbps???

PS: Desa ilmu area, kota samarahan.

Kuching speed sucks yesterday. My HSDPA signal drop to GPRS from time to time. Upload 5MB file takes half an hour!!!
Anyway, the speed in Kuching (at least mine) for this month is below average. Speedtest shows 700kbps to 1.2Mbps on a few best try. Yesterday shows 80kbps... mad.gif

QUOTE(kopitiam @ Sep 10 2008, 05:35 PM)

Hi xixo,
Before decide which package, you need to make sure your area is covered by HSDPA. Else, no difference between D68 and D98
