DAS6PRO is 800W and G220v2 is only 500W. I do not think they are the same machine. maybe DAS6 and G220v2 is, since both 500W but I am looking at both which is the same price range. I can get them from UK with sea shipping.

Local distributor thinks it takes so much effort to ship a 5kg metal that they can mark it up to RM1650..

I prefer to buy your second hand DA if you guys plan to dispose after owning bigfoot. lol. I am cheap haha.

bro.. i saw that you were enquiring on the DA Polisher being sold by cheeho04. Its quite cheap considering the stuff that he's giving out. Any idea what brand is it?

btw.. he's also selling teh G110v2. Will need a step down transformer to work. Pretty nice package there as well but not sure if the effect will be the same as the G220v2.

mav3rick: he is selling 1.1k for the G110v2 and a good 100W step down converter is in the range of RM300 (I guess), so I am not interested in that. The effect will be the same, just make sure you get a good transformer.

I was interested only in his 710W DA because it is cheap, but I cannot get much details and there was only 1 user review. Too bad he is in Terengganu else I can have some hands on to decide. Without the proper review and testing, I decide not to go ahead.

Later on, I manage to get some quotes for sea shipping from UK, which open up alot of possibility. So now I am trying to decide between DAS6PRO and G220v2 which is in the affordable range.

I think you misunderstood me. I didn't mean that both machines are the same. I meant both machine are sourced from the same factory (or thereabout). G220 is the cheaper machine but has a higher price tag (both locally and oversea).

I also think that when buying a machine like this you should also consider the reliability and warranty, especially if you're sourcing it from elsewhere. Our retailers/suppliers/distributors here, more than often enough, would be very reluctant to entertain any warranty claims especially if you didn't buy it from them, even if the machine comes with international warranty. I do suggest, if you're considering buying, try getting them locally, if possible. That's why I suggest the Ultramate as it has local support and it also come from the same factory that made the DAS6Pro - i.e. same machine with higher motor.

I don't own a DA, but I have a feeling that a few pre-own DAs would be on sale soon enough.....hehehe.....

I don't think they have a forum and I haven't seen them on line for quite a while now. But there's a group of detailing fanatic kakis up there that do meet up for TT regularly. I do keep in touch with them once in a while. As far as I know they are having a whole lot more fun and using a whole lot of different stuffs as compared to us down here. Let me see if I can hook you up with them.

KrisMas, I have been using a lot of power tools (grinder, drill etc) and non failed yet so I didn't think much of about warranty haha. But you are right, those power tools are not that expensive. But I am definitely not paying RM1650 for something that is sold for less than 1k overseas. With that price I can buy 2 in case the first one spoil LOL. If I get the G110V2 from US I can buy 3. LOL

Ultramate, this one a? http://maxgloss.com/shopping/pgm-more_information.php?id=2

create thread and reserve few posts first la (lock thread, open, reserve, lock again rinse repeat to ensure no one posts in it yet)

can copy the 1st page's of this thread for steps/guide too (i find them rather helpful as well)

after you create thread, lock it (bottom left of the screen you get minor moderation options if you're thread starter)

then you prepare another browser tab with your thread address. back to your original tab, at the same location, unlock the thread, go back to the new tab, f5 refresh it, and you'll be able to reply to your thread, just make a reply (type in anything, like "reserve") and post.

go back to the original tab, and lock the thread again.

there you go, you reserved 1 post without anyone replying. rinse repeat for 2-3 more posts.

this is so that all the first page/posts information are not cramp into 1 post. also do note that there is a limit of lines/posts/images etc you can have per post, thus it is always better to split them all to multiple posts.

additionally, you can keep the existing thread's contents to the new thread, by clicking reply to the first post of this thread. on your reply window, you'll see that you've quoted the entire contents of that post. thats it. copy paste that content to the new thread smile.gif
link back/credit if you will. or as a v2 tradition, link back to v1 thread smile.gif

once that is done, a moderator can assist to lock v1 (this thread) and further discussions can proceed on v2 (the new thread that you're about to make) smile.gif

Talking about the 710W DAs. It is sourced from China. You can get it cheaper + free shipping + a bunch of stuff that comes with it...
710W DA - 8mm orbit

There is also a 600W DA with 9mm orbit but a tad more expensive...
600W DA - 9mm orbit

Also you get buyer protection from Aliexpress tongue.gif Have not bought any of those. Can get cheaper if you know how to get it from China... Tested some of these China DAs and hate the vibration. rclxub.gif Waiting for my "sasquatch"...
