hello~ i have 2 cars with different condition, am thinking go for coating or wash/poslish/wax by myself.

- first car is 5 years old, light purple color (although the color name is "sky silver"). Paint condition not really bad but the color is dull already and with swirls marks. It always park at outside and expose to sunlight, rain, dirts, bird drops, etc   Unfortunately the apartment i stay here has 1 parking slot only.

- second car is just 2 months old. White color car is not easy to maintain coz it very fast turn to dusty and dirts are obvious to see especially raining season now. I have to give privileged to it to park inside apartment bcoz it's new car LOL~

My requirements are, i want to wash car in easy way and fast enough. So i'm considering to use ONR, as i cannot drive my old car into the apartment without access card. sometime washing bay is occupied by other cars as well.

i'm also thinking to apply coating for both car but i'll prefer to DIY for cost saving.
i hope coating can protect paint better than conventional wax. because very heart pain to see my old car torture at outside and yet i only can send it to RM3 machine wash for my convenience due to busy work life.

if we can, what is the proper technique to perform it? just "swirl around" and pray you dont add additional swirl marks? lol

so i take it that if you ensure the surface and polishing medium is clean, by hand or by machine isn't an issue? it's just simpler/easier by machine?

For rinseless ONR or GO Waterless Car Wash

just applied Permanon Platinum last Saturday, now a short review after 2 days...

prep work before applying Permanon Platinum was shampoo with Meguiars Gold Class, claying with Hecta PL, then very light polishing with Meguiars Ultimate Polish to remove the stains, and then following up with another wass with Meguiars Gold Class again to make sure that all polishing residue has been removed..

So then i applied the permanon platinum, mixing 20ml of permanon platinum and filled the provided spray bottle with clean filtered water. after finishing the whole car, i followed up with Meguiars Ultimate Detailer (UQD)..

The day after, Sunday, i did a quick wipe down with ONR and then used the 2 in 1 revitalizer as sort of a detailer, shine was nice after that, but could also be because of UQD.

overall, the shine before detailing with UQD (Permanon only) was OK, but after applying UQD, shine was good, very wet looking finish, one word, nice! and i wouldnt say that beading properties for Permanon Platinum was that great either.. more of a disappointment.

after the super heavy downpour in KL yesterday, the roof wasnt beading water properly at all.. very disappointed.. also did apply permanon platinum onto the windscreen, half of the whole area so that i could see the difference, and during the downpour, beading was also ok, similar to using OCW on the windscreen, however i feel OCW did better on the windscreen..

However, on the windscreen where the wiper doesnt wipe, water wasnt beading at all on.. rain water was was just flowing down, first time  ever happening on my ride since 2 years ago i bought the car.. have always been applying OCW and sometimes Rain X from day 1 on the windscreen, no disappointments with OCW and Rain X, with Permanon, very disappointing. No pics tho coz it was raining like crazy, visibility was crap and lots of traffic.

whereas on the roof, water beading wasnt that great, to my liking, i expected more from Permanon Platinum.. water bead feels like after washing with Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax, without applying any sort of wax..

anyhow, since i have about 50% of permanon platinum left, i will give it another go once in maybe another 2-3 months, or once i feel that its necessary.

ultimately, what made me purchased Permanon Platinum was the good reviews on its beading properties, its durability and also the ease of washing off dirt (some positive charge or something that doesnt bond dirts to the paint). so in terms of water beading, very disappointed. OCW + UQD gets the job done much better by a mile..

next review would probably be washing of the dirt after more heavy downpours, might probably wash the car in 2-3 days time and see how easily the stains get removed.

Their place is in Sri Hartamas. Google it and you should find their facebook page and location. Their products are from Freedom Waterless Car Wash....if you like ONR then you'd love their products.

Is it? Too bad indeed. I have tried the original Freedom and it's very decent. I guess they see more profit in providing services instead of selling them....unlucky us....

i need durable wax to withstand raining downpour.. park at open space, both office n house. nowdays heavy rain lor

"Clay Lube" it is then...though QD is quite synonymous with clay lube....

just sharing some pics of my noobie or rather virgin car detailing experience

Exterior: Washed, clayed, polished, waxed, protectants on trims and headlights.
End result. Not sure if its my 1 month old Ultimate Wax, or 2 week old Ultimate Quik Wax or 1 week old Ultimate Quik Detailer In summary i would say this shit works !!

eh how come tak jadi? what product you use? this is only my first time using Meg's products. previously on turtle and kit for my old car.. personally quite happy with the results.. although its really hard work.. especially the polishing part. lucky no need to always do that.. my fav products so far are the UQW, UQD, UP and NXT glass cleaner.

next challenge for me is the engine bay cleaning!! i need to go buy the products first.. my home minister really not happy that i'm spending so much time with my metal mistress..

Dawn Power Dissolver...can be found in ACE Hardware...be warned it's a little expensive but &%$ it ROCKS. Spray on->leave it for an hour->rinse & squeeze only.
Warning: don't leave it overnight or more than a few hours as it *could* spoil the foam (don't ask how I know that....hehehe...).
