Is the video taken by LX-3 is Full HD 1920x1080 or half HD 1920x720? Any video sample I can download and preview? Quite tempting this DC.

my fren just bought for RM1950 from fotokem,with a original pouch(reli nicely),1 screen protector...Actually fotokem offer my fren RM2000, but my fren dun want the 2GB SD card that come with GX200. den become RM1950,worth woh.

1280 x 720 only , @ 24 fps, max out @ 10 mins / 2GB

wah ...rm 2 k ....but very noisy leh....no free view finder meh?
other that it has horizontal auto leveling when taking picture and some dynamic control and auto rotate like iphone..i see it like a normal decent cam


if buy lx3....with the wide 1 lens and adaptor..add another 500 become super god of god digicam ..no longer king

only rm 2 k wor...

want so wide for wat. can use multiple shot and combine in panorama maker.

then u sell lx3 to me cheap cheap and buy olympus lor..in built panorama function mah...

i like LX3 not coz of the wide lens.
but for the f/2.0 + high ISO performance

wish lx3 had panorama mode also though..

can do firmware update mah

if they wanna do..sure can geh

for rm 1550..u can get a F1.4 for ur A200 mah

I finally got my LX3 (black colour). I think the market is out of stock for black colour. I went to Sg.Wang, Low Yat, BB Plaza, Time Squre and KL Plaza, all of them are out of stock. I was nearly give up at the time and thinking of look at somewhere else like Digital Mall or Mid Valley. Since I was there and why not to Pavilion and try my luck. Thanks God there is a LX3(black colour) waiting for me at Pavilion.

I got it for RM1600. It's including Panasonic SDHC 4GB memory and a Lumix Pouch. Additional RM15 for screen protector. Plus free me a Sony mini pouch which is bigger than the Lumix pouch they gave me. (Since is free, who cares is Sony or not) hehe...

I told the supervisor that I got some friends are interested LX3 black colour too. So, if anyone here can't find it at any place maybe you can try to call them before you go. Sorry, the unit I bought is the last one according to them. I believe they will top up the stock soon.

I think if you looking for silver colour is better you buy at Sg.Wang or BB Plaza. They should be offer better package there. I didn't ask for silver colour price at the place I bought. Yes, I paid cash.

I'm confused ! Both of these machines have their ups and downs ... In terms of specification.

What do you guys think of the image quality of these 2?

I also noticed nobody uses anything more than ISO 800 for any pictures. So it doesn't make any difference lah having an extra 3200 ISO in the LX3 than in the G10 ...

one thing for sure. LX3 has f/2.0 lens. which let u use ISO 1 stop lower.(copared to f/2.8 of G10)
let's say u need to use ISO800 in G10, you'll only need use ISO400 for LX3 for same exposure.
1/1.63 is larger.

This is where it confused most consumers since manufacturers like to use such term to state the sensor size, making it all the more confusing for consumers.

The sensor size 1/1.63 on the the LX3 is a bit larger than typical 1/1.8 or 1/1.7 sensor but still way too small compared to APS-C or full frame.
In general, 1/2.5, 1/2.33. 1/1.8, 1/1.7, 1/1.63 are all tiny sensors. Roughly a 4/3 sensor is about 4 times larger than a 1/1.7" sensor, and it only does up from there (APS-C about 7 1/2 times larger, then full frame, etc.). In other words the sensor is too neglilable to be considered "big".


As for the LX3 and G10 both are very comparable, image quality wise there's really no different in image quality in most cameras these days. It all comes down to features, since both are aimed for those who want a DSLR like experince and both cams are targeted towards DSLR user looking for a compact backup.
