chris11, if you already have a G1 (which btw is already very portable for a dSLR), then i think no point to get an LX3, which is not exactly that portable.

Plus you got a tight budget, so i think better if you go for FX38. It's got a wide 25mm lense, comes in a small package and should cost you around rm1000.

Btw Zeeker, i feel regret nvr buy your LX3... haha...I might just go for the silver now.

Anyone bought from Best Denki before? They offered me rm1599 (with 12-months 0% repayment,  no one-time charge either), and they're giving the standard class-4 SDHC Pana, soft casing + their 5 year extended warranty thrown in for free (costs about rm127).

Ok?

bro, which best denki outlet offered that price? I went to see last week and saw them following panasonic's current retail promotion price of RM1799 leh unsure.gif

Mid Valley. I also surprised and double confirmed, she said rm1599. Summore with free (Best Denki) warranty +3 years, though i think that ended yesterday.

Funny thing is, i purposely went to Best Denki 1Utama, they quoted rm1799. hmm.gif

Hi guys. Anyone here try shooting fire? I can't seem to get any good picture of fire. Always overexpose. If I use a faster shuttle speed, there won't be enough light coming in. Any idea?

bought Stuff magazine (jan 2009), and there's this comparison between lx3, nikon p6000, canon g10, sigma (dp1 or dp2 cant remember) and ricoh caplio something cant recall the name.

And reading the review, i was like WTF ? It says the nikon and canon has better image quality, among other things la.

Now i learned that never to trust these gadgets magazine too much. Better find the reviews on the internet like dpreview

why you always mislead people...??? dp1 can't pawn LX3. It is fix focus at f/4.0.
Its useless most of the time and a lot of problem here and there in auto department.

It's DSLR sized sensor beats all compacts and prosumers.
Since everyone here is talking about how the LX3's IQ is better than the G10's IQ, it felt necessary to mention that the Sigma's IQ is better than the LX3 whistling.gif

a camera does not instant pawn other camera just because it has big sensor.
You have to see other feature and usability and price. This is free world. I'm
free to comment whoever comment there is. But I love to comment your comment laugh.gif

Now that's weird. You seem to be siding the LX3 because it produces better IQ most of the other compacts.
When I mention the DP1, all of a sudden having superior IQ alone isn't enough.
If it pleases you, maybe I should rephrase my previous post.

It has the shape of a face, looking left, with a huge forehead and some beard. Actually it was just fire in the dark, just giving it a title to make it more interesting laugh.gif
