Thanks Stimix.

I'm actually first time going to stay at the Fenix Inn. I heard is not bad and I saw at their website, the design looks cute for me. Is that the place near the town area? Can I walk from there to the Red house those areas?

Fenix inn is just beside Mahkota Parade & Dataran Pahlawan side by side..& further than that is A Farmosa & the red house..yes within walking distance..It's difficult to pin point right now where is Malacca town ctr...Fenix inn can be also the town ctr bcos the reclaimed Melaka Raya area is now a town by itself. & located beside the historic enclave area.

The 1970-1990 town ctr is actually surrounding bunga raya/Jln Hang tuah where the old wet market & bus station located...but now abit sleepy.

Prior to 1970, The Town ctr probably Jonker street area.

Now another town ctr probably the new bus terminal i.e at the Melaka Sentral area near Pringgit/Bkt Baru

Not near but within walking distance of about 1.3km from Mahkota Parade...located just opposite the bridge from those red houses/clock tower.

Walking to/fro + rounding that area & back to Fenix probably ~3-4km of walking for that loop. The bus station has been moved further to Pringgit years ago..which is about 6km from Mahkota Parade..& yes nearby to the big mosque also pretty new...The mosque was not there when I stepped in to secondary school.. biggrin.gif .

Then I think it's near so I don't have to worry about the parking already. I guess I walk around to get lost will be better than driving around and lost myself at somewhere I don't know. sweat.gif sweat.gif

Stimix can you recall a place where is quite near to the jonker street serves nice mee siam and pong teh chicken? Their pong teh chicken not that famous but I know the mee siam is actually quite nice and famous. I can only recall it's like a tall house type of place, then front there got sell something like kaya or Malacca sugar? sweat.gif sweat.gif

Too long never go there already, can't remember where and where liao >"<

From your description u probably refering to Donald & lily..Kampung houses style which the entrance is at the back of the house
http://foodspice.wordpress.com/2007/08/25/...d-lilys-corner/

Located at the back of the main Jln Tun Tan Cheng Lock (holland st), just beside Joker Street. Entrance is via a small narrow lane after the bridge & thereafter turn right for a short 50M & park your car at the Public carpark there..The backlane restaurant is facing the kota Laksamana public carpark:
http://wikimapia.org/#lat=2.1948404&lon=10...=17&l=0&m=s&v=9
Their ponteh Ok, so do their Laksa but I luv their Taukua rojak...Only in Malacca u can find this type of rojak.. smile.gif

Another better laksa & asam laksa is actually 88jonker st..in the mid span of jonkier st..Their assam laksa & laksa + the cendol (Touted the best in Melak & one of the best in Malaysia)- for me 88jonker..cendol..the good thing is the gula melaka but their cendol & santan not really good. sad.gif ..well still the best in Melaka.. smile.gif

YES!!!! THAT's the one!!!! Lolx, I saw the first picture I can recall it!!! tongue.gif I can still remember the entrance which actually shocked me and I was not very comfortable on my first visit, but their ponteh really not bad, their rojak too but can never remember the name sweat.gif Seriously I was unable to believe that can be eaten when I first saw it, but it was really worth the price tongue.gif I've actually never try their laksa, because I was in love with their ponteh very badly sweat.gif

Yes yes, somewhere near there got a public car park but can't remember how to get there already. That's the reason why I was planning to walk to find that place instead of driving. Definitely will get lost if I'm in the car sweat.gif

Oh, is it the one serves Durian cendol? Erm... I personally don't really like that cendol even though it's the best, I still can't accept that santan, just don't like it sad.gif

Bungalow for RM550 is reasonable liao. otherwise try the star classified for local bungalows..but beware ho, those ancient bungalows maybe got.......me sked liao shocking.gif ..A Farmosa pretty new thus probably less those activities...RM550 divide wth ~10 ppl..per pax only RM50..super cheap liao smile.gif

Thanks Stimix! notworthy.gif

Well, need me to help to parang toh him? tongue.gif

Well, cendol without FRESH santan, how can it be nice? I've tried many cendol before even I don't really like the greeny thing but still I'm very fussy with it. The gula melaka is nice and good but santan plays an important role neh. Sometimes people just overlook at this kind of tiny thingy. Only fussy people will notice smile.gif

Hey, will you be around in Malacca during end August? Let's go for Nyonya food together!!! I can not remember which lorong got the dirty but yet yummy fried lala jor tongue.gif

That's too bad sad.gif
Well, no choice lo. Unless find a day if I off work early we have dinner at Puchong. I heard about the F1 restaurant in Puchong is nice but I'm not sure where is it. I only know it's in Puteri.

Back to the topic, I need some suggestions what to do in Malacca. I'm planning to spend two days one night over there. I miss the food, and also the historical places over there for photo shooting. Should I pay a visit to the zoo ar? tongue.gif Well, I don't think I want to go to the A Famosa area, it just doesn't suit me.

Ouch!!! Well, I don't really know Puchong so, fine.... Got to really spend some time to look for food in Puchong already tongue.gif

Well, I remembered there were some nice food in Malacca too, but anyhow can't really remember already. Hopefully when I spend some time to walk around there I can recall some places. I don't know will I have enough of time to really go to those Zoo areas or not, because I've not been to those and I was thinking to go since I have two days one night over there. unsure.gif
