Yup, you will need to forward the HTTP port to your NAS' local IP, only then outsiders will be able to view your hosted site through your domain (make sure the domain is pointing to your IP as well).

Thanks, but I'm looking for a simple NAS only. No need any sophisticated features and just file sharing will do.

Btw, any forumer know why I need to install the NAS software in my PC in order to connect to NAS device?
I was informed by the hardware shop that need to install the NAS software in my PC. Weird... I thought only plug the HDD to NAS device, connect to wireless and I can connect to the NAS device via my PC.... any advice on the NAS setup... Thanks

Actually, the Linkstation Duo Pro is a simple NAS for simple file sharing and storage. Not a sophisticated one.

Anyway, NAS boxes like the Linkstation Duo Pro or the Linksys NMH300 that I have all have softwares to install for setup. You can opt not to use it and can setup the NAS devices by entering the IP address directly on the internet browser. It will bring you to a login page and you should be able to set the network settings, hardisk etc.

Yape indeed DIR 615 really stupid. Even i configured DND and port-forwarding. When i access using the URL it will go direct to router instead of NAS synology.

What interesting me is the photo station5 and the able to download free from direct download site. The PS let me share my photo and video collection with my friend and family. While serve as my backup. thumbup.gif There is no others NAS can match this PS.

But I still cannot use ipad to add in torrent file to the download station. And streaming video from photostation. Which is I understand it is in flash format. Hope they solve this problem.

With such a large data you really need a big NAS.

I m using synology in office and home and schedule the backup everyday with different folder. The normal streamyx cannot handle the large data. So far the backup failure is very less. Unless I download and occupy alot of bandwitdh.

I would like to have sync too. But at the moment the synology version don't have. The latest beta version have this "Shared Folder Sync" function. I m looking forward for this.
