hmm .. since daikin can pakai back the conventional piping + normal gas
how bout the service cost? are most parts (e.g., blower) can be dismantle easily?

last time when i service my a/c then technician told me panny is the best,
most part can dismantle and clean it, unless some other brand,
they need to bring down whole unit from wall just to clean certain part,
so they charge 'overhaul' instead of 'service' tongue.gif

planning to get 3-5 units of a/c for my new house ... since most of them will be in the bedroom... i assume daily pakai +/- 8hrs (or even more),
daikin inverter sounds like good choice to me. No need replace piping (the house comes w/ a/c pipes..replace cost alot of $$), can use back traditional gas, *seems* save on electricity bill ...
anyone w/ daikin (esp. inverter model) mind to share the experience on the a/c itself, and cost of service etc ?

Hi,

I am looking for a replacement for my master bedroom (currently using toshiba). I need some feedbacks and recommendations between this 2 brands:

Mitsubishi and Daikin (1hp inverter type).

Mitsubishi - I am using one non-inverter for 6 years which is still working fine. Heard that the new models parts are from japan and assembled locally. Longer warranty period but most expensive among the same specs.

Daikin - recommended by friend who has been using for 2 years and very satisfied with it.

For maintenance cost wise, I guess it is not an issue because my aircond guy is charging me 120 for normal aircond and 150 for inverter aircond. According to the aircond guy, govt has enforced to use new gas which is more environmental friendly and sooner or later the R22 gas and servicing will cost higher than the new gas.

Cheers.

Looking to purchase either 1 of air-cond below, pls enlighten the pro and cons for both brand:-

Panasonic 1HP and 2HP (both non-inverter)
Mitsubishi 1HP and 2HP (both non-inverter)

Which one better? in term of pricing, efficiency, and durability.

Thanks in advance! notworthy.gif

Anyone using LG? Since day one my 2.0hp LG aircond is not cold and requires many many hours before the room even feels cool, sometimes not even cold at all. I hv to switch on aircond+fan to get the room to be cold.

Is it LG no good or some other problem?

Personally, i'd go with mitsubishi ; my aunt has got the pana one(not very efficient & always break down). My in-laws & my room has mitsubishi now for over 2-3 yrs, still working well.

By the way, just to side trak a bit, does anyone have the cost of installing as in hacking the wall for piping & then replastering it? Basically, for 1HP to 2 HP? Tks.

I am quoted for Mitsubishi Mr. Slim (excluding installation) as follow:

MS-GC10VD 1.0HP RM 970.00
MS-GC13VD 1.5HP RM 1,270.00
MS-C18VC 2.0HP RM 2,080.00
MS-C24VC 2.5HP RM 2,450.00

Are the pricing ok?
