Enquired some aircons today

Taman Alam Megah, shah alam

(all prices with installation)

Daikin 1hp = rm1050
Daikin 1hp inverter= rm1400

Toshiba 1hp non inverter= 1150
Toshiba 1.5hp non inverter= rm1430 (went for this)

Mitsubishi 1.5hp (not mr slim)- mitsubishi industries = rm1399 (according to shop owner, better than mr slim, which is under mitsubishi electric)

MY OWN DIY Maintenance
- clean the filter once in 3months
- clean the roller blower(damn thick dust built up) at least 5mm. painstakingly use cotton bud to slowly clean every crevices. u can't imagine how fast the dust builds up. takes me approx 3hours to clean it

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries is under mid-low end range, quality is not so good compare to Mr Slim which is MEQ. The shop is not telling the true fact. If the price RM1399 is for non-inverter I think is expensive. If its for inverter then the price is not bad. smile.gif

it's non inverter. Ah my bad...i thought the 'Industries' would have meant a tougher durable built.

Mmm i guess the toshiba's prices quoted is fair?

I'm not sure where to put this topic but hope there's someone here kind enough to give some opinion/experience before I contact repairman.
The problem is my aircond is not blowing air fully. What this means is only half of the aircond is blowing air while the other half seems no air coming from it. Do any of you experience this and what could be the problem?

FYI my aircond is a Hitachi and is around 3 years. Not yet done the chemical service since the air is cold. Just it takes longer to cool.
Anyone have the similar problem before? sad.gif

Possibility
1. Blower dirty, normally blower will catch lot of dirt over time become like fur like which reduce the airblow ability. Can peep through the outlet to see whether blower dirty or not.
Generally blower is one long piece one, seldom got separated into 2 half.
2. Dirty/blocked filter causing air flow difficulty.

Cleaning generally will do the job.

I did tried to clean it today. Open up the cover, take out and clean the filter and brush the "cooling fin" (like the car radiator thing).
Still the air not fully blow. blush.gif

It is not the fin. It is the blower...the round fan below.
If you want to clean it yourself, make sure to clean it all. Otherwise, if one part not clean, the blower will make noise due to uneven weight.

Highly it is blower, always encounter this experience about 6 months- 1 year.

Cooling fin is not a problem generally. If no air after clean the filter, then 99% is the blower fault.
If not enough cool but with a lot of air-flow, then probably it is the cooling part issue.
But since your prorblem is no air coming out, then 99% it is blower.

My solution is using vacuum cleaner to suck the firt at the blower, and also wipe the blower with damp cloth.
It might not as clean as taken out and dismantle the whole unit for cleaning with water jet (like most air-cond cleaner does) but it does do the job of having good air-flow back.

I am going to get aircon soon, because its for my new house, and I found few brand that most people prefer.

1. York
2. Pana
3. Daikin
4. Mitsu

Which one has it best function? in terms on cooling down faster with easy maintainance?

Thank you very much

My 1HP Haier breakdown once or twice a year. I have been using it for near 3 years and surely will breakdown once or twice a year.

Haier quality so so, better go for Mitsubishi non-inverter around RM1050 plus installation, durable and cooling. Problems free. smile.gif
