Enquired some aircons today

Taman Alam Megah, shah alam

(all prices with installation)

Daikin 1hp = rm1050
Daikin 1hp inverter= rm1400

Toshiba 1hp non inverter= 1150
Toshiba 1.5hp non inverter= rm1430 (went for this)

Mitsubishi 1.5hp (not mr slim)- mitsubishi industries = rm1399 (according to shop owner, better than mr slim, which is under mitsubishi electric)

MY OWN DIY Maintenance
- clean the filter once in 3months
- clean the roller blower(damn thick dust built up) at least 5mm. painstakingly use cotton bud to slowly clean every crevices. u can't imagine how fast the dust builds up. takes me approx 3hours to clean it

it's non inverter. Ah my bad...i thought the 'Industries' would have meant a tougher durable built.

Mmm i guess the toshiba's prices quoted is fair?

or if u wan to save some penny. can clean it by urself

thats what i do. but it takes a few hours to properly clean it.not to mention..good exercise too

iianm, only the daikin inverter uses the same common tubing..others, yes u need a diff pipe

common sense will test u it's each

any ideas if this Econavi thingy is useful? or juz another gimmick?

A question, let's say for non inverter type, there 2 class types, basic n deluxe.

for eg, panasonic

CS-PC9MKH(basic) vs CS-C9MKH (deluxe) . price diff: rm260

so differences are, deluxe has econavi, 5star rating, ion etc etc. so is all these 'features' useful/really works? or juz pure marketing BS?

mind sharing where 2 buy?

i installed Midea 2x 1hp basic and 1x1.5hp inverter. Looks n feel ok. let me comeback with feedback after few months.

unfortunately, i can only giv u my honest feedback after few months. to my, the inner working of inverter is almost the same across all brands. for 1.5hp inverter, price diff is closed to rm500 between midea and panasonic. so that IS a BIG diff. well, it shouldnt be too bad 2+3 warranty, appliances now, use ->spoilt ->throw ->buy new.

anyways, i ON it for the first night tru, first impression..okla..haha juz aircon, set 27C n comfy tru it.

I'm using midea for the past 1week. satisfied with it, where it's significantly cheaper than other brands. okla, i don think there are significant diff between ac brand

just a comparison, a 1.5hp inverter is at least rm500 cheaper than pana/daikin

i got mine from a forumer here..1.1k (not sure if he gave me some discounts, as i bought a few electrical items from him ) . installation+ rm180.

mm , need it urgently..but i guess price isn't cheaper?

Pleased with my midea 1,5hp inverter. rm1.1k + rm150 for installation. so far no complaints, easily rm400-500 cheaper than pana/daikin.

i rmbr the most basic Sharp 1hp was selling rm680 @ jintex, too bad i missed it out

too many ..but i bought basic midea rm580 (exc instalation). works well

installed around mid dec'11. i bought from iamsobloodysick

i bought my midea inverter 1.5hp for rm11xx (cant rmbr exactly howmuch). basic 1hp rm580
