York is not a good brand. I have 2 york at my office.

1st install, water drips. Fixed on the spot.
1st month, very cold. I mean VERY COLD, not just COOL. I am impressed.
2nd month, average.
3rd month, air-cond breakdown due to the area where the outdoor unit is installed. The area doesn't have enough room to dissipate heat (but the area has aluminium lining that allows air to go out)
4th month, from very cold become cool air then eventually it just went straight downhill.

One break down, it's ok. But two york breakdown at the same time? And service is bad. They come and didn't settle my problem. Just ASK me to open the aluminium lining to reveal the air cond to dissipate the heat and he even told me if I didn't do that, the aircond unit will breakdown faster in 1 year time. But all my neighbors in the office lots doesn't have these problem, why my York so special??

I agree that York is not a good brand. The indoor unit build is like cheap plastic unlike the Mitsubishi I used at home.

Go for Mitsubishi. The price is a little bit more expensive but more worth the hassle.

Thanks for the review, I'm actually cracking my head lately undecided whether to get York or Mitshubishi...
I need to buy some 1 hp, 2.5 hp and a cassette aircond of 2.5/3.0 hp...
I was considering York for its feature of i-plasma (wall mount unit) and ionizer for cassette aircond.....but mitsubishi only 1.0 hp and 1.5hp wall mount aircond come with plasma...

Mitsubishi has 2.0 and 2.5 wall mounted aircon. I got the price yesterday for my friend's shop. It's expensive than York of course but worth the hassle of fixing and breakdown.

My aircond installer recommend me Daikin inverter 2hp for my living hall. Fr what I gather here, no need to use inverter type for large hall area. Reason being that since compressor will not be start-stopping, so inverter tech will not be fully utilize for cost savings. Is this true?

Btw, anyone here knows the price for inverter and non-inverter type? Tq.

This is very common air salesman would tells u this.

Inb4 yes, nowadays don't have it issue.. Even inverter can perform much better and energy saving.

Inverter vs non-inverter

Inverter have part load.. From starting boot up from minimum power, after certain take mid or full load.
Non-inverter don't have minimum and most of time would full load until on & off times.

For inverter no matter how big of your living hall these only fully utilize on that particular place.
Once temperature reaching and reduce the energy on part load until you change new setting.

Actually these is very common sense.

Non-inverter design for once temp. Setting degree are reaching will sending signal to compressor stop work, until the weather change warm then start with full load maximum power on 2.2kw for while and keep remain on 1.6-1.8kw only.

Inverter will start from minimum power when starting running compressor on 0.4kw - mid 0.6kw - until maximum run on 1.9-2.2kw once temp. Reaching and reduce to part load of 0.6kw only.
Even bigger hp you only pay for 1hp non-inverter bill only.

Like what your contractor suggest, use insulation for refrigerant pipes and condensate drain pipe.
