Yes, there is a chance of leaking. My current unit once leaked ice water and dropped small ice cubes. It is a branded unit some more but gave plenty of headache. That's why I decided to go for generic brand with salesperson recommendation.

It is nice design/layout on paper.

But once air-cond getting old time, the position may cause hassle in term of leaking water (when drain pipe clogged with dust, quite common), want to to maintenance time or cleaning time, that TV set may be blocking the passage etc.
Not to mention the danger of leaking water drop into TV/electrical items.

From own experience and preference, I never want install air-cond above TV set in living and on top of bed.

Hisense, from China. It is one of the biggest consumer brands for electrical items, but it is not very established in Malaysia. My only worry is the parts availability but it is very cheap ($800 RM with 10 feet piping and installation) so I just bought 5 units of 1 hp and 1 unit of 1.5 hp to try out.

How long is long? There is a max distance for each compressor installation. Read the spec, also need to fill in mor gas if you want to go into Max length.  This also depend how the installer install, some use good termal insulator the looses will be minimal. Many use normal insulator with put two pipe into same insulator, looses will be high.

If you want to put at the rear of your house, extend the a/c hp. If you intend to put 2.0, put 2.5.

I doubt so, is like having thicker pipe doing the same job. You can ask your installer, they can advice. The installer will put in an adaptor to reduce the size if it too big.

I only got to know this after I Put in all my copper piping. Another installer told me he did it.

Sorry no idea. For my case, i put 2 units, 1x 2hp + 1x 1hp. If not enough switch on the 2nd unit. Easier to control. As I like cold

Actually what you need to calculate is the BTU then you will compare with your aircon's BTU.
BTU is more accurate than HP in term of cooling capacity.

You can use rule of thumb just simply use the total square feet of air-cond serving area X 60-70Btu/hr.
10,000Btu = 1HP...

i'd advise you to think twice about getting a Panasonic aircond. Both my Panasonic airconds gave me problems unlike my Toshiba (2 units) , Mitsubishi (2units) and Acson (1 unit) which have all been running for more than five years without problems. Both Panasonic had electronic board problems, and one with additional fan motor problem. One Panasonic aircond gave problem within 1 month and the other within 2 years gave problem. The Mitsubishi and Toshiba indoor and compressor units are quiet. The Toshibas have been running for more than 10 years without any problems. They are switched on for almost 12 hours every day. Acson/York compressor units are well known to be noisy and gets noisier with age.

I am looking at CS-S10PKH inverter 1.0HP from panasonic,
lowest price i can get is RM1200 (not include installation).
Anyone get lower than this amount?

heard from salesman, Panasonic air-con will increase price....anyone heard of it?
