I would recommend amway e-spring.

Why eSpring?

No other water treatment system compares to the eSpring Water Treatment System.

The eSpring Water Treatment System is truly the first of its kind in many respects. It is:

    * the first in-home system to combine a patented carbon-block filter with ultraviolet light and an electronic monitoring system.
    * the only system certified to effectively remove lead and more than 140 potential health-effect contaminants, including trihalomethanes (THMs), which can be a by-product of municipal water treatment systems that use chlorine.
    * certified by NSF International for the reduction of more contaminants than any other UV carbon based system.
    * the first system in the world to meet three internationally recognized water quality standards, NSF International Standards 42, 53 and 55.
    * the first system to use wireless inductive coupling technology to increase safety and reliability.

For those who are interested with alphamax, can consider PERFECT STEEL G2 Filter. If alphamax does not require changing the media, then i guess this filter could do the same as they are actually same as alphamax using micro Z, quick sand and fine sand.

***Sand & micro Z will need to be replaced around 3 years once.

In general, DO NOT drink RO water. unless u have kidney failure, which then you have no choice but to drink RO water.

Read report from WHO on risks when drinking demineralized (RO) water.

Hahaha...

Just because the RO doesn't have mineral, you ask people not to drink RO water?? What a joke...

If u want your drinking water that contains minerals which equal to 1 glass orange juice, you need to DRINK 30 GALLONS to get it!! As long as you eat vegetables or fruits, you can get back all the minerals!

And you know what, RO able to purified 0.0001 MICRON which filtering most harmful substances including heavy metals, cancer-causing substances! Which other filtration method won't able to do it!

Cheers.

nope, im not joking, infact very serious. especially when i have close relatives n friends who have suffered the effects of drinking RO water long term (>8yrs).

why remove something which is beneficial to the body (considering on avg a person consumes 2.5L of water each day) ? imagine the amount of minerals lost.

fyi some minerals which are hard to be obtained from food and which can be easily obtained from drinking water.

judging by an avg msian's diet...i wonder how much vege and fruits we consume each day? 5 servings? not even close!! lol

"Which other filtration method won't able to do it!"

you obviously havent done your research smile.gif information on the internet is limitless, explore~.

RO filter mainly obtained through a compressed membrane filter in which if applied with high pressure would get damaged. Therefore most RO filter have a storage tank to store filtered water as the filtration process is very very slow. I have personally "saw" open all the filters in an RO unit and it was quite a discovery =D

i wont point my finger at anyone who have bought an RO filter, but just advice not to if have a choice. Reason is because Not many filters out there can effectively filter away most all contaminants while leaving the good stuff behind. Therefore the safest route would be RO.

But if one HAS the choice and knowledge on which is the best filter, why go for RO? get what i mean? smile.gif

sorry if i offended anyone (especially RO users). but im merely sharing the truth.

This is an ongoing debate on pro and con of RO water. I was considering brands like Coway for my new kitchen but now leaning towards normal filter like 3M or Amway eSpring.

Why you want to drink that water till that microscopic clean? In longterm you don't have any antibody and immuine system to protect you. If you go third world country holiday or a few day inside jungle, can you survive with the river water?

Mineral is one of our diet and water is the main mineral supply. Take it out and you have to eat twice or thrice of your food. Why I have to do that?

By the way, I have been drinking mineral water for over 10yrs daily and only 0.1% drinking tap water (That is when go out for eat). tongue.gif

RO water actually is the best system to provide us the real H2O and the only pure water.

water specialist, Mike R. Long also mentioned that R O water is the best system and the right way to get the pure water.

One more thing, It is correct if you said nothing mineral inside the R O water but you have to know the water you drink actually is not a part of nutrition but it is as transport to make sure all the systems in our body working well such as blood circulation..and etc.

If the mineral is the issues, I tell u...the mineral in a glass of milk contains of 100 bottles of 500ml mineral water you drink. So which one u prefer???? a glass of milk or 100 bottles of mineral water.??..think wisely..

As for me, I'm using R O base water filter at home as my daily drinking water also for cooking. As a result, i can see the rice can last till 2 days as well as my children's milk can last a bit longer.

I did research before I decided to choose this. Actually, i got water quality tester to check either your drinking water is safe to drink or not. Before this, I had tested many water filter but no need to state here what brand...

Guys, if you want to check either your drinking water is safe to be drink, i can help you to test your water.....just sms me or PM me...0197435949

Nowadays there are too many water filters to choose (i think it is only happened in Malaysia).
Many are just a marketing gimmick.

Why spend thousand of ringgit when actually water from the tap is already safe to drink?

For those who don't want to boil water or not so confident with the water quality from the tap,
below are among the best and affordable water filters in the market. They can eliminate nearly 100% of bacteria.

Panasonic water purifier PJ-37MRF selling at around RM300+.

OR similar but slightly more expensive from Coway P-07I

Hi Zean, this Perfect Steel G2 model, do we still need to replace the sand/packing inside the filter then? How often does it need to be replaced then?
Is this the same model I saw at your shop, that you have placed near the entrance? The link you showed, uses a stainless steel head though....
Thanks

Read this and tell me that RO water is still good for health?

==============
http://www.live-in-green.com/health_info/p...ised_water.html

http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health...mineralized.pdf
=================

these reports are not according to ONE water specialist but many many many specialists.

do not see short term results, but seek to understand the long term effects of RO water.

as for any filter claiming to be able to filter 100% bacteria/viruses, they have to product detailed reports or certifications in black and white as proof...plus what bacteria it filters.

the numbers "100%" is just a marketing gimmick provided its justified black n white and certified by reknown parties - eg NSF, WQA.
