In general, DO NOT drink RO water. unless u have kidney failure, which then you have no choice but to drink RO water.

nope, im not joking, infact very serious. especially when i have close relatives n friends who have suffered the effects of drinking RO water long term (>8yrs).
why remove something which is beneficial to the body (considering on avg a person consumes 2.5L of water each day) ? imagine the amount of minerals lost. fyi some minerals which are hard to be obtained from food and which can be easily obtained from drinking water. judging by an avg msian's diet...i wonder how much vege and fruits we consume each day? 5 servings? not even close!! lol "Which other filtration method won't able to do it!" you obviously havent done your research RO filter mainly obtained through a compressed membrane filter in which if applied with high pressure would get damaged. Therefore most RO filter have a storage tank to store filtered water as the filtration process is very very slow. I have personally "saw" open all the filters in an RO unit and it was quite a discovery =D i wont point my finger at anyone who have bought an RO filter, but just advice not to if have a choice. Reason is because Not many filters out there can effectively filter away most all contaminants while leaving the good stuff behind. Therefore the safest route would be RO. But if one HAS the choice and knowledge on which is the best filter, why go for RO? get what i mean? sorry if i offended anyone (especially RO users). but im merely sharing the truth. |

Read this and tell me that RO water is still good for health?
============== http://www.live-in-green.com/health_info/p...ised_water.html http://www.who.int/water_sanitation_health...mineralized.pdf ================= these reports are not according to ONE water specialist but many many many specialists. do not see short term results, but seek to understand the long term effects of RO water. as for any filter claiming to be able to filter 100% bacteria/viruses, they have to product detailed reports or certifications in black and white as proof...plus what bacteria it filters. the numbers "100%" is just a marketing gimmick provided its justified black n white and certified by reknown parties - eg NSF, WQA. |

QUOTE(Jolo @ Sep 21 2011, 04:58 PM) I have found out Amway Espring is way over priced in Malaysia. lol bro Jolo, the unit u found on amazon is a different model. Espring in US has couple of different models, in malaysia (and most other countries) only 1 model sold.I cost USD 435.00 (RM 1,305.00) on Amazon Link http://www.amazon.com/eSpring%C2%AE-Carbon...16595098&sr=8-2 OK OK is understand Air freight, tax bla bla... MLM profits. But come on lah ! they charge RM 4K here, isn't that rediculous. A friend of my (Amway Troopers) will talk about how great this divine water filter, every time we meet without fail. Yes i agree it may be quite good but not worth the price. if wanna compare every electrical item priced in Msia with the ones on Amazon/ebay... i would say almost EVERYTHING is more exp here la~ also, FYI RM4k is retail price...it can go down as low as RM2700+ with trade in facilities and up to 18mth interest free installment. for that kinda price + certifications + B&W reports, easily beats any other competitor in the Malaysia market.ofcos cannot compare pricing with other countries. why pay RM1.5k-2k to get something of middle class quality(most likely no proper certs or nonsense claims) . u can verify my statement with your Amway friend |

@Tomme
if u hv UV, u actually dont have to boil the water...boiling process kills viruses, BUT in order to really kill most viruses, u have to bring the water to boil and leave it boiling for 15-20 mins...by then alot of that water may have evaporated >_< i saw this on a news clip. @weikee the 3M filter has NSF?....u know what NSF standards they have? i would assume minimum also have standard 52? |
