Just bought a RQ568 4 doors for RM2,399 during 11.11 sales.

I only used it for ice cream, cakes, drinks, steamboat cold ingredients, milk etc.

Energy consumption is pretty good. Daily about 1.2-1.4kwh.

My mom is using a 8 years old hitachi 4 doors and I also did a check on her fridge (not sure the series, probably 700l or so). Her fridge used 1.7kwh per day and her fridge get open more frequent because she cooks.

Thanks. Are you using a smart adapter for consumption monitoring?
I ended up with a Panasonic....

side-by-side vs top-bottom

still in a dilemma on this, can't make up my mind on which one. i have read through google comments but still no clear conclusion can be made. sweat.gif sweat.gif

i believe some of you have gone through this as well. can you share which one did you selected, and if you are happy with it? what are the thing that you like and don't like?

personally i prefer top-bottom as to me it looks bigger and more flexible to store things, but wife prefers side-by-sde as it's easier to organise things hmm.gif hmm.gif

thanks in advance thumbup.gif

First, where are you going to place the fridge?
If there is no obstacle on the left and right side then side by side will be suitable unless you want to bang bang the door on both sides.

no wall on both sides, planning to have the fridge at the middle, then tall cabinet at both sides.

as i see on the specs, most of the larger fridges have the depth of around 700++mm. so if my tall cabinet at both sides of the fridge is 600mm depth, it's still ok to fully open the door right?

thanks in advance

At 1st looking for big fridge top (freezer)/ bottom.
But after some physical survey, side by side feels more 'premium'.
And budget also increase abit.. but feels more 'puas hati' with the side by side.
Btw, side by side, the freezer smaller in width, but u get more spaces vertically and much better organizing stuff.

Left is Sharp 700+ litres French door. .. 6 years

Right is Hitachi 700+ litres SBS .... 2 years. Bought during mco to store more things.

The Sharp can also considered as top bottom type. The fridge is similar to the top bottom design. The bottom freezer is similar to the SBS. So is 3 in 1.

got it, so the Sharp one is like top part fridge with 1 wide compartment area where the bottom freezer got 2 partitions ya

on the fridge part, do you feel 1 wide partition (Sharp) is better or 2 smaller one (Hitachi) is better?

For Pana, I will go for their air cond, fan, water heater, fridge

For Sharp, I will go for their fridge and small appliances

For LG, never a follower of their brand. Might consider their tv for future replacement.

Pana definitely good... I'm using LG Hxhc, looks good and works well, already 2 years... just afraid to recommend to parents... they need reliable brand, maybe Sharp is the one can balance between price and quality (hopefully)
