The inverter is using ac and not dc. It use frequency hz to control the speed.
*
Inverter Air conditioner has to convert the AC to DC first before use. In doing so, loss of power is approximately 10%. So if the motor has to work full power without stopping (like tiny air cond in huge room), an Invertor air conditioner actually uses more power than non-Invertor air conditioner.

Quote

"Inverter" air conditioners use a variable-frequency drive to control the speed of the motor and thus the compressor. The variable-frequency drive uses a rectifier to convert the incoming AC current to DC and then uses pulse-width modulation of the DC current within an inverter to produce AC current of a desired frequency."

"Conversion energy losses from AC to DC and then back to AC can be as high as 4 - 6% for each conversion step."

That is inside the inverter electronic side. What output out is still a ac current with different frequency to drive a ac induction motor (or compressor). So far I never see an inverter control a dc motor.

But servo dc motor yes. Anything that using A/D converter will have some degree of power loss.

Should be good. Sharp manufactures fridges for Electrolux as well. Some of their fridge designs is simlar to those offered by Electrolux with the exception of the finishing and the accessories inside the fridge.

hitachi supplies its compressor to Sharp.

Electrolux is sourcing its top freezer fridge from Haier.

Fridge with Electrolux label and people automatically think it is good. But with Haier label, people automatically ask around "is it OK?" Good doesn't even come to mind.

Hi,

I am looking for bottom freezer fridge and am impressed with the 4door Electrolux and Sharp fridges.
A shop quoted me the Sharp 750L Stainless Steel color SJF78SPSL for RM5,050.

Is it okay? Or can I get them elsewhere cheaper? hmm.gif

Thanks.

Hi. I see much talk about many branded refrigerators here except Samsung. Is Samsung really not much to talk about in terms of reliability n features? Can someone provide some opinion on Samsung? smile.gif

Samsung electronics is not really that reliable.
Korean electronics have a lot of features but in terms of reliability not better than Japanese brand.
For refrigerators, i prefer Sharp.

My two cents biggrin.gif

Yeah, that's just bcoz of the design I like, lol... Panasonic Inverter has better energy saving compared to others, but does Panasonic fridge has insufficient cooling case? I heard my aunt said her new Panasonic fridge not cold enough sweat.gif Anyone can clarify?
