In theory, yes.
But it depends greatly how you use it. Open close regularly won't do any help.

means Hitachi Inverter feature s just there to lure ppl to buy if they never notice the power comsumption.

Yes and no, it depends how we see it.
If a normal fridge cost rm1+++ while inverter cost rm2+++ for the same volume, I'll get the normal type without question much.

ic.. thanks for the clarification. both model is price around the same range (2500++). so you recommend to go for the hitachi since it has inverter?

Electricity tariff is increasing over time, so it is definitely good to invest on a energy saving fridge and it is on 24x7.

You already know the answer.
Anyway, even for a normal fridge, if I don't open/close regularly, it only use 1-2 unit a day max.
Will the inverter unit 5 days uses 1 unit? I don't know.

Possible. Inverter normally can cut up to 40 to 50% of electricity used

In theory only. Always read the bottom small words. That's why I never change it to inverter as my current still ok.
Reducing air cond usage time by 20-30% a day will be more practical icon_rolleyes.gif

Compare whether a fridge is it engery saving, one needs to compare the total watts used per year. Nowadays most appliances if good engery saving one they will have such sticker to show total electricity usage per year.

Inverter confirmed can save a lot of electricity good example is Panasonic inverter series confirmed can save more than 40% no prob

How do you measure 40% saving? compare to 5 stars non-inverter fridge?

To save energy, reduce the amount of frequency you open the fridge and reduce the amount of time the fridge door is open.
Sound easy but so difficulty to achieve with kids around

Last week when I was in SS2 looking for Hitachi Fridge, one of the electrical shop quote me with price >RM2700 for R-VG710P3M.
Most of the shop I went, they said with this price range I only can get Hitachi R-VG660P3M and not for R-VG710P3M (normally RRP RM3299).
I'm going to check again with the seller in tomorrow, else I shall take R-VG660P3M.  smile.gif

hi, so in the end how much u get for R-VG660P3M??

Hitachi compressors are reputably quiet. Anyway, I don't think we tend buy fridge as we do hand phones... change after two years. Just choose one although slightly more expensive is justifiable so long as it will lower cost of operation. Inverter working proven. I see that happening with AC so long as temperature is not set too low but around 25-26.

Most of the shop offer around RM2500 (plus/minus) for R-VG660P3M, I managed to get R-VG710P3M with RM2600. brows.gif

I got my Hitachi fridge in yesterday afternoon and start to use it in yesterday night. smile.gif
From my observation, it is quite noisy when fully pick up (around 60dB) if compare to my mum's old Toshiba fridge . doh.gif
FYI, I using the software "sound meter lite" with my Android to track the sound level, I do not have sound level meter. sad.gif

Also, you can refer to another feedback shared by sovietmah in post #1167 for his fridge R-V750PM. The sound level stay constant around 60db.
