QUOTE(Galaxy Angel @ Jan 12 2014, 10:49 AM) Yup, current Hitachi model has no lamp in their top freezer. Just for your info, Hitachi will launch NEW series fridge, inveter type with dual fan cooling. This type of fridges do have energy saving LED lamp at both compartment (top freezer & bottom fridge) Model number R-VG580P3M Is hitachi reliable?

QUOTE(akira982443 @ Mar 31 2014, 11:21 AM) ic.. thanks for the clarification. both model is price around the same range (2500++). so you recommend to go for the hitachi since it has inverter? Electricity tariff is increasing over time, so it is definitely good to invest on a energy saving fridge and it is on 24x7.

QUOTE(supersound @ Mar 31 2014, 01:25 PM) You already know the answer. Anyway, even for a normal fridge, if I don't open/close regularly, it only use 1-2 unit a day max. Will the inverter unit 5 days uses 1 unit? I don't know. Possible. Inverter normally can cut up to 40 to 50% of electricity used

QUOTE(supersound @ Mar 31 2014, 02:02 PM) In theory only. Always read the bottom small words. That's why I never change it to inverter as my current still ok. Reducing air cond usage time by 20-30% a day will be more practical Compare whether a fridge is it engery saving, one needs to compare the total watts used per year. Nowadays most appliances if good engery saving one they will have such sticker to show total electricity usage per year. Inverter confirmed can save a lot of electricity good example is Panasonic inverter series confirmed can save more than 40% no prob

QUOTE(fkinmeng @ Jun 8 2014, 11:11 PM) need help on the power plug. i have a sharp fridge, but the manual said to not use extents ion cables, but the problem is, i need to use extension cables, as: 1) the original cable not long enough 2) need to share the power point with washing machine (in the future) anyone has any comments? Better to make a new power point for long run. Looks nicer.

Electrolux fridge is not bad too. The design of the compartments are very flexible that you can easily adjust to fit the food/drinks you put inside.
