i'm using R-V710P3M. i will say that the freezer shelf compartment is abit too small. There are few comments on the noise from Hitachi's fridge. You might want to compare with other brands to determine whether or not you can accept the noise level. I found it to be minimal and not a cause of concern. RVG (no inverter), RG has inverter..
*
Thanks for the feedback. Yes I'm agree with you that the freezer shelf compartment kind of small, but my wife prefer to have this model because of the brand and it comes with inverter.

Please correct me if I'm wrong, at this moment only Hitachi, Panasonic, Samsung and LG comes with the inverter model, too bad for Sharp and Toshiba it only have 5 star rating saving. sad.gif

I went to few of Electrical shop in SS2, Setapak and Puchong, majority of them suggested to get Japan brand fridge like Hitachi (they are specialize in this), Sharp and Toshiba. Not recommended to get Korean brand fridge. Panasonic is not as good as National used to be. sad.gif

Perhaps can anyone please suggest any for me?
I'm actually looking for Japan brand fridge, with budget around 2.6K, around 500L of gross capacity and comes with inverter. Thank you. smile.gif

*
You can get around RM2600 (plus/minus) in outside for R-VG660P3M. brows.gif
SenHeng is selling it at RRP and it comes with additional 1 year warranty, that's why much more expensive. wink.gif
Today is the first day of Modern Home Fair 2014 in Mid Valley, maybe you can get good bargain for Home Appliances? I'm going in tomorrow btw... wink.gif

Off topic a bit, need advice from all Sifu.
From your experience, among all the Electrical shop in SS2 (same row as SS2 Murni), which shop offer better after sales services and better value, since I'm about to get fridge, washing machine, water heater, air-cond for my new house. smile.gif

Last week when I was in SS2 looking for Hitachi Fridge, one of the electrical shop quote me with price >RM2700 for R-VG710P3M.
Most of the shop I went, they said with this price range I only can get Hitachi R-VG660P3M and not for R-VG710P3M (normally RRP RM3299).
I'm going to check again with the seller in tomorrow, else I shall take R-VG660P3M. smile.gif

Hi... I didn't go for R-VG660P3M and got R-VG710P3M instead, my wife want a BIG fridge. sweat.gif
Most of the shop offer around RM2500 (plus/minus) for R-VG660P3M, I managed to get R-VG710P3M with RM2600. brows.gif

QUOTE(halcyon27 @ Apr 6 2014, 11:59 PM)
Hitachi compressors are reputably quiet. Anyway, I don't think we tend buy fridge as we do hand phones... change after two years. Just choose one although slightly more expensive is justifiable so long as it will lower cost of operation. Inverter working proven. I see that happening with AC so long as temperature is not set too low but around 25-26.
*
I got my Hitachi fridge in yesterday afternoon and start to use it in yesterday night. smile.gif
From my observation, it is quite noisy when fully pick up (around 60dB) if compare to my mum's old Toshiba fridge . doh.gif
FYI, I using the software "sound meter lite" with my Android to track the sound level, I do not have sound level meter. sad.gif

Also, you can refer to another feedback shared by sovietmah in post #1167 for his fridge R-V750PM. The sound level stay constant around 60db.

Hi, your R-VG710P3M is black color right? (GBK)
i quoted some shops, black color is much more exp than grey color. RM2600 really good deal.
*
Yes, it's R-VG710P3M GBK .

I am lucky to find one of the retail shop selling this fridge much cheaper than other seller, they told me that last month there was promotion for Hitachi product.

Most of the buyer (including myself) not believe with the price they offer, most probably they are selling this fridge that get from grey market. Later they said their company want to hit the sales target before end of March (also end of financial year in Japan) and therefore selling it much cheaper than other seller. It's not from the grey market and we shall get warranty from Hitachi Sales (Malaysia).

hi there. can you help me by checking what is your noise level?

i use this app
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=kr.sira.sound

my reading now is 60db (normal should be 40db only)
*
I think it's a known issue for Hitachi fridge that quite noisy when fully pick-up, where it can stay constant around 60db. doh.gif

Another forumer sovietmah raised this issue earlier of March for his fridge R-V750PM and I raised my issue early of April after bought R-VG710P3M, you can refer from here.

then the shop is going to get a legal letter for breaking consumer rights unless they do something to fix it

btw, the technician (from hitachi) mention applying something to the compressor to reduce the noise. installation will be done by him hence "should be hitachi-certified"
anyone tried it before?
*
That's interesting... how much will it be if apply something to the compressor?
Also, will it void the warranty?

Btw... I found this link that may related to Hitachi fridge getting noisy, looks like the design flaw (or cheap part) to reduce the vibration for the compressor?

Majority of the Hitachi fridge owner will face this high pitch sound when compressor kick in, I think this is the design flaw and I did not see anyone posted in here with the proper solution for it.

I'm quite happy with my fridge R-VG710P3M but not happy with the compressor noise. sad.gif

hello,

today i went to senheng and told by salesman Toshiba dont have inverter refrigerator and Hitachi got inverter refrigerator?

Is it true Toshiba dont have inverter?

before was using toshiba gr-rg73mda (which i dont think it's inverter)?
*
I could not find any Toshiba fridge comes with inverter around April 2014, so I ended up getting Hitachi fridge.
Only in my last visit to Harvey Norman in previous month, then I found out Toshiba was released their 2014 model recently that comes with Inverter.

Don't trust fully whatever SA tell you, always do your own research! smile.gif

what is your hitachi fridge model?

the compressor sound loud? i do some research and see toshiba got low noise motor compressor

i saw my friend's hitachi model.. the refrigerator inside soemwhere near the vegetables compartment.. got a bit water i spot.... i guess its from "nano filter" that part i dunno whats it called.. water is from there down to vegetables compartment..

whats ur comment about this model fridge? got water too at ur vegetables area?
*
Mine is Hitachi R-VG710P3M, bought it around end of March this year.

I love this fridge very much except one issue -> High pitch sound when compressor pick-up, which I already shared my experience previously , but now I already get used to it, not concern anymore~ sweat.gif

What's the model of fridge your friend using?
I don't have the problem you mentioned... no water spot or leak in vegetables area.

QUOTE(botack @ Sep 13 2014, 02:05 PM)
Noob question here guys. Where do you guys usually buy your fridge? I am staying around PJ and I have done some research on a specific model that I want. Problem is getting the right price for it. I have surveyed multiple shops around Puchong and also ESH. Any ideas where I could get a good price for a fridge in PJ?
*
Try those shop that same row as Murni SS2... you can get good bargain from there if you willing pay with cash. brows.gif
You can go to chain store if you look for installment, most of them offer 0% installment but don't expected you can get cheaper home appliances if compare to other store.
