For novel or tv series perharps. But for galaxy destruction level villain, he is not hahahaha. He is too tactical, slow n probably take forever to conquerer entire galaxy.
What ever happer after, usually come with games, comic, novel, tv series. They need to expand, thats how lucas make lotsa money. You just cant answer or satisfy everyone in movie alone. Thats why, last time, expanded universe existed.
Thats why marvel is king today
Then DC starting 2 pick up 2020 after the joker success
Mandalorian is the real 4 the oldies of star wars hahahaha

Marvel king for movies, but dc king for tv series/animation. You just need the blood n brutal scene sometimes to satisfy ur need... Thats where dc delivered well.
if u like The Last Jedi then this is not for you. if you like The Force Awaken, you'll probably like this.
In the new Disney SW era, this is the best but also not the worst. i still like The Rogue One the best. my fav Start Wars in the entire franchise.
can't help but read that this is disappointing closure or worst rating since Phantom. i felt some part can be better but i hv no complaint at all.... after TLJ and Solo.
fan service here and there which is fine by me cuz i dun hv to sit thru casino raider or floating thru space.
perhaps best sum up this way. old school SW fan will probably like this. if u r going TLJ will take SW to new direction then you'll probably whine.

I would feel better if ben live and rey died. Then ben be like renouni keshin, try to live n redeem his sins not as jedi or sith but as a human being. Example ahsoka tano.
I conclude that, ben solo have a mastery of swordskill but rey is like a padawan level obi wan kenobi in ep 1. Rey is born with unlimited power higher than ben solo.
George said star wars is not about space ship.... Is all about space opera skywalker family.

yup , and i dont think he want to bring palpatine back. that was all jjabrams
edit: sorry, just found out about Star Wars Underworld that never made it to tv series before Disney. it was George Lucas original storyline..
"Probably the most interesting origin story to come out of the show was an Emperor origin story that would've seen him as a heartbroken romantic. That's right, one of the galaxy's most heartless and cruel villains was really just a softie who had his heart broken.
Game director Cory Barlog, known for his work on God of War, read a few scripts and revealed that there was an episode that would have seen the Emperor as a guy who was in love with a gangster girl who left him heartbroken. She apparently did something to shatter him as a person, which eventually led to his turn to the dark side. Now that's something every Star Wars fan would have loved to have seen."
Disney,.. "When Disney purchased LucasFilm for four billion dollars in late 2012, the company got access to all projects under the brand, including the scripts for Underworld. Disney famously chose not to go ahead with Lucas' storylines for Episode VII-IX, so it makes sense that they wouldn't want to produce his $5 million per episode TV show, though they do have the money to pay for it."
might be that, probably, jjabrams create 'Rey' to relate back to Lucas idea.

1hr+ recap/review of TRoS by Kevin Smith, a long-time fan (made me wanna watch Jay & Silent Bob Strikes Back back)
He revealed that he cameoed in the movie (like what Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, etc. did before) ...
I kinda agree with him; on my 2nd watch, noticed more good fan-service things e.g. when Ben Solo said, "Dad, ...", memory Hans Solo only need to reply, "I know..." (dunno why I didn't get that the first time), and forgave more the 'bad' scenes (like the frenetic dialogues among Rey, Poe, & Finn in Act 1; and why didn't JJ cut to Rey training scene after Kylo Ren & Palpatine first scene?; the so-convenient deus-ex medallion thingy given by Zorii Bliss; etc.)
Got a bit emotional during my 2nd watch, didn't feel so the first time ... can hear some girls sniffing behind me during the lifeless Rey scene ... issit girls don't care much about movie logic and easier to absorb the intended pulling of heartstring scenes?
Do we just need to feel the SW sequel trilogy, instead of overthinking them? Do we have to use the Force to see, instead of our jaded brain? (like Luke & the first Death Star) Did the directors purposely made these 3 sequels imperfect, for balance? Not too good, not too bad ... Was the flying General Leia in TLJ scene setup so it's easier for us to believe that Emperor Palpatine could easily survived TRoJ ending?
So many questions ...
P.S. The 2 different cinemas I watched them in, seem to cut/censor the LGBTQ kissing celebratory scenes ...
